Ridata8.5 GB 8 X Inkjet Printable Double Layer DVD+R 50-Pack (DRD+858-RDIWN-CB50) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I do a lot of saving of my videos and slide shows to DVDs, and I have found I often need Dual Layer capacity. These blank disks are fast (8X) and the quality has been superb. I also like to be able to write on the white inkjet tops without worrying about any possible etch-through damage to the media from a permanent marker or pen. Over the past few years the price per disk has come down, but the quality has always been top-notch. This is my absolute favorite Dual Layer DVD.

I've grown accustomed to labeling my DVDs with my printer. When a dual layer was required, I tried several brands, none of which worked. (not even one). I was disgusted. Then one day I was browsing Amazon's selection and found a brand with good reviews, so I decided to give it one more try. To my astonishment, they worked perfectly, all I have tried so far. Whenever I need a dual layer inkjet dvd blank, it's Ritek Ridata for me from now on.

Please don't buy this. I took a chance, got burned. I contacted the seller and told them , they said "to bad, sorry and have a nice day." wow! I have two mac's, one PC, and it didn't work at all. I gave one to a co-worker to see if the dvd's would work for him . No, didn't work for him either!

These DL's work very well for me. I haven't had any defective ones yet. I've been buying other popular brands for years but they do not work well anymore, too many bad ones. I am satisfied with the quality of these Ridata DL's now.

Great DVD's for burning and printing. Great ink jet coating!

I had 4 failure right away, and more followed. This shouldn't happen. I haven't found any way to be compensated for bad discs. One had a clearly visible scratch. This definitely should have been caught in QA. The bad discs failed in the write phase, never got to the verify.

This is a reliable DVD-R but you can't get a photo quality print on the disks. If photo printing is of great priority to you?...........go and look somewhere else. The print quality here is matte and lacks the luster and color saturation I am looking for that's why I gave it 3 stars only. Nobody seems to have commented on this so I made sure I get this on so the next customer is much better informed....

I been using Ritek DL Dvd's for a while now. The old 4x DL's burned without any or no coasters with my LG burners @ 4X. With this last order I'm getting about 50% success which is bad, most errors are during the 2nd layer burns @ 4x burning. Going to look for another brand or try their Pro version.Update: Starting in 2014 this media was back up to par. Will it remain that way? That's the question. I could never find any written info from Ridata about the difference in the two versions, or is there any? I will keep buying this brand at these prices if it stays reliable, when I need DL DVD's to burn.
