African American, Black, but not "N" word
Terribly disappointed in the way this book continued to use the "N" word when referring to African Americans. I know it was acceptable in the past, but it is no longer politically correct. I was not offended by the reference in his other books, (all of which I have read). In this book it seemed that he uses the derogatory term freely in real life as well. Other than that, I enjoyed the plot.I will buy at least one more Ace Adkins book to see if he continues to come across as a bigot.

GANGSTER TALE TOLD IN FICTION
INFAMOUS by Ace Atkins is another real story told in fiction as only Atkins can do. Ths novel is about George "Machinegun" Kelly. Atkins has a true gift to research and then wirte these historic works. This one was not my favorite but still an easy read with so much historic input. Thie book is well worth the read. RECOMMENDED

Slow start. Strong finish.
I found the first half of the book slightly tedious. Too many characters to follow and the story was a little slow. The second half of the book was focused and intriguing and I could not put it down.

Infamous - one of Ace Atkins' best!
Captivating story about Machine Gun Kelly and his final adventures in Oklahoma. Written incredibly well, giving the reader a comfortable place to watch these true historical stories unfold.

Infamous is a book for lovers of American Gangsters.
Ace Atkins is skillful at "fleshing out" historical events. In this story, he shows the erratic nature of "Machine Gun Kelly," noted bank robber of the 1930's, and the possible motivations behind his movements during the later part of his crime spree. It's a book worth reading. Ace Atkins is an author worth following.

Lost my interest
I have read virtually everything the author has written. The last two books have represented in my opinion a falling off of the quality of the books. I lost interest in this book and stopped reading after the first 100 or so pages. I just couldn't bring myself to care about the characters and could not focus my attention enough to follow the historical context and the plot.

Gift
This was a gift for a friend so I never had a chance to use it. They had no complaints so I always give them three stars.

Machine Gun Kelly rocks!
I like the work Atkins did with Spenser, and am similarly impressed with this one, and almost at the end now. Really interesting times when gangsters were better armed than the Police, and some real characters knocking around back then. I am now in the process of buying all his other works as if you find a good author it's worth sticking with them.

Was he there?
Ace Atkins writes with a the style of an observer, his descriptive work puts you with the characters, any script writer would appreciate the work he's put in. ,
