Great guide on the "how" of transitioning to a WFPB life-style
I have really found this books useful. I read it just after reading 'The China Study,' which was great timing because I could use Karlsen's tips to make the transition to a WFPB life-style. I especially liked her tips about making a vision board, keeping a food diary temporarily, and finding a clan be it local or via social media. I have been using a health coach that has experience in WFPB eating, and have actually recommended the book to him. I love the recipes and her book helped sort out some of the finer details one encounters when they decide to make the change. It's so easy to say you will, but then get stumped with the how. This book helps! Definitely recommended for anyone looking to make changes to a whole-food plant-based diet for good.

One of the best introductions to Plant Based diet...
Wow! Fantastic introduction to plant based eating. This book can be your own personal coach and expert that will motivate you about how to do a lifetime diet that is the most healthy and tasty without all the guilt recognizing the harsh challenges we face in todays processed foods environment. I haven't even gotten to the recipes yet that I will update "here" with any comments. But, if you're concerned about your long term health and preventing or reversing diseases such as diabetes or heart and artery or brain vascular degeneration, then this is the best diet I can think of.A lot of great tips and a thinking person's approach that can help transform your entire life to optimum health with this diet if your health is suffering now.

Missing periods and editing issues
While the information from the book thus far has been what I have been looking for especially being new to the topic. There are missing periods and the grammar could use more editing. It is distracting more than it should be. I normally can let these things go to the point where I do not write reviews; however, books have editors for a reason. I am reading a paperback book and not a kindle book so these things should hardly be an issue. I'm not halfway through the book, yet and so distracted I needed to write a review and even thought about getting a different book. But I reread other reviews so I figured I'll try to read more of the book and hope for the best with the editing issues.

Great introductory book
Wanted to put myself on a plant based diet but really had no idea where to start. This book gave me all the information I needed on what a plant based diet is, why we should go on one, lots of information about what non plant based foods do to our body, and includes great suggestions and recipes. This is a terrific beginners book if you want to know the why and how's of a plant based diet.

Ms Karlsen "nailed it!" in her new book. For the person who is curious about getting healthy and a plant based lifestyle, this is a very un-inhibiting book to read. All the information is backed up by valid, scientific evidence, but does not go overboard with in-depth scientific explanations. It is easy to read with great simple suggestions on how to get started and keep going. Lots of really yummy, easy recipe's. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is considering getting started in a plant based diet or even for those that already practice this, but want to learn more.

Inspiring and Practical
I really enjoyed reading this book, and it inspired me to add more whole foods to my life (I was already following a plant-based diet). The writing style is very readable; it also helped me understand the basic science behind the many lifestyle diseases that are our top killers - and how to prevent them. I also love the different speeds at which you can choose to make the changes, and the practical tips on how to implement them. The recipes at the end of the book have been great! I've already tried several, and they've all been delicious - especially the Rescue Quinoa and the "Basket of Jewels with Walnut Sauce!"

This book is a must-have for anyone wanting to transition to a Whole Food Plant Based diet--it's clear, concise and very easy to implement the transition. I especially like the recipes included in this book as they include foods you can purchase in any grocery store--no health food stores required! This make it much easier for the average person to try this lifestyle--learning how to eat from the Four Food Groups--Vegetables, Fruits, Whole Grains and Legumes--and how to make delicious meals incorporating them. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve their health--the side effect--weight loss!!

I tried a few recipes, they were basic but good. I quickly lose interest if recipes have no pictures and this book has none.
