White's DigMaster Digger - 601-0073

This one may cost a little bit more but you get what you pay for. I beat the heck out of this thing and it will not bend or break. The serrations are sharp enough for roots and it will easily push,pry rocks or hard pan out of the way. The handle is very comfortable and grippy. If you are a woman or child with little hands it may be kind of thick for you to maneuver after a long day. The sheath appears a bit cheesy but it does actually function quite well. I'm going to have a buddy make me a nice leather one but this one should work ok. Don't cheap out and buy the cheap crap because you will just bend or break it and have to upgrade anyways. This is a fantastic tool that does what it says it will do. Love it! Steve

Extremely nice tool, my first accessory choice since it has digging notches on both sides. When I opened the bag it was in and withdrew it from it's sheath, the heft and quality of it was impressive...it's coated with a clear coat to protect against rust for awhile, though I'm sure it will wear off as I dig. This would also make a great gardener's tool...many times I had to cut turf and struggled with roots...these notches are no-nonsense features! The very large round back-plate at the hilt will make a nice place to sift dirt back and forth in the air, instead of having to scrape the tool along the ground for the duration of every dig, provided it's softer dirt; and the blade is wide enough to bounce softer clumps and break them up. The weight of it will allow for easy clod-busting on the ground, as well, a light tap will do it - it's that hefty. What a great took...so impressed. Glad I bought it.

Pro'sIt feels like it is built like a tank. Haven't used them yet, I will use it when the weather warms up a bit ( tonight's temp will be in the 11 degree range). But I'm sure they hold up very well.Con'sOne negative, Difficult to get the digger in the sheath, serrated edges keep getting caught in the inside edges of the canvas sheath.

The best digger I have ever used. Slightly expensive but worth it compared to other products. You can use two hands and this digger and cuts through roots like butter. I have been using it for months now and it is still very sharp and the tip has not dulled at all.

I wouldn't have purchased it if I had known it wasn't made in the U.S.. A customers review comment stated it was made in Taiwan... I'll likely send it back!! Whites Electronics,,, you should make it clear that it's made in a junk producing country, and that the blade isn't stainless steel, film coated and will rust. Lol what a joke for a premium price tag.

After breaking a fiskars trowel in two i looked around and decided on this. I am so pleased! grip is excellent , lots of surface area on gard( the flat perpendicular to blade) there is a little divit on the back of the gard where my thumb fits perfectly. I might sharpen but not necessary. Blade cut in both directions well. Thickness seems spot on as in it doesn't feel like your stabbing mother earth with a sharp brick. Just a delight to use. Get one.

Only problem I have using this hand digger is that the sheath is garbage. It doesn't stand up to normal use. I used it numerous times and it is coming apart.

This is absolutely the best digger you will find. The grip is big and strong. It will cut through roots and seems to be nearly unbreakable.
