Great fins for traveling
Glad I bought them. These fins are awesome. Super light! They didn’t fit in my carry on, so I just brought them on the plane as an accessory. They are very light, so even with extra bags you won’t notice them.I’m a 7 1/2 and bought a 7 1/2-8 size. Unless I wear socks they fit pretty loose. I actually got a pretty bad foot cram first couple of times, but wearing socks solved the problem. Snorkeling in them was a breeze. No struggling, no feeling like I got extra weight in my feet, no extra endeavor. They are great. I barley feel their weight in my beach bag. Yet to try them scuba diving.

Nice fins for snorkeling
I have used fins for 40 years, I bought these because a buddy who is a good diver highly recommended them and my old fins were 30 years old. I expected an improvement over my old fins. These work very well, they are comfortable for sure and good fins. My only disappointment is I really did not find any improvement in power over my 30 year old fins, they are a little more comfortable. So the technology of the split fin did not impress me but these are good fins. I just expected a nice improvement over my old fins and that did not happen.

occasionally I dive for fun in tropical locations
I am a PADI divemaster and I am a big fan of Atomic products in general. Though most of my diving is in the PNW in cold water, occasionally I dive for fun in tropical locations. I purchased these fins for diving in tropical water and was very pleased with the performance. These are the best full foot fins I have ever used. The foot pocket is very comfortable, providing good support without being stiff. The size is spot on as well. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a high quality full foot fin.

At least as fast as Mares Wave full foot fins with fewer kicks
These Atomic Aquatics Lightweight High Energy Compound Full Foot Splitfins, 10.5 - 11.5, fit me well and I wear a 10.5 or 11 shoe depending on the cut. Comfort was fine and the fins also fit when I was wearing a 2.5mm Cressi bootie. I tested these fins against the highly rated for speed Mares Wave full foot fins which I also have and the Atomics were at least as fast and required fewer kicks to cover the same distance at speed. While our bodies are all different, I have my doubts regarding those reviewers who say that the Atomics aren't fast. In initial testing in a pool, I felt that I was able to free dive somewhat faster, but this is just a subjective impression that needs to be confirmed in the ocean.

Perfect travel fins
This is one of those situations where a hybrid does a good job but not amazing in all uses.SnorkelThese are perfect if you just need them for snorkeling. Lightweight and travel well.Scuba-Loved them for scuba but they’re a bit soft, a stiffer fin would be better if you only plan on scubaFree divingThey work fine but you’ll for sure want longer if that’s mainly what you’re using them for

A stiff split?
I wanted to like these. I have a pair of closed foot twin jet split fins. They are awesome. But splits are like pineapple on pizza, you’re either for or against’em.I have several pairs of different fins for different situations, including twin jets, da fins, long spear fins, etc. I match my fins to the need. The twin jets are heavy, and foot pocket isn’t quite right for my feet so wanted to try something lighter and more comfortable, but fundamentally they are great for 2-3 hours of effortless snorkeling / loitering around reefs and underwater the feel like they aren’t there. Not a lot of power, but easily the most natural feeling in the water. These atomics are lighter, but they are stiff. For my 10.5 foot, they felt great. However, Kicking on the surface was off, the blade angle was off for my kick and just caused a lot of churn. Felt like shark bait. I tried a few kick styles, but non felt right. They felt better underwater, but really no different than a typical full blade fin. They had more drive than the twin jets, but non of the effortless kicks. I swam in these for about a mile before deciding these were not for me. I have regular blade fins that are better on the surface and have plenty of drive for situations when there current, so these did not replace the twin jets. Oh well.
