The pockets are good, I actually used the deep map pocket for ...
These pants are exceptional in every way, I feel that I've really found the ultimate outdoor pants. They're waterproof enough to use as casual snow pants. I've used them while snowshoeing and kneeled in the snow for extended periods with no issues (do wear a base layer though, they're not especially warm on their own). The pockets are good, I actually used the deep map pocket for a map while hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's odd to me that there are no back pockets, which is a little bit annoying, but I understand why; the seat is double layered for added toughness, and pockets could catch and tear if being used in tough conditions. The right cargo pocket has a stretchy fabric slot inside which perfectly fits my iPhone 6 and wallet and keeps them from banging around against my leg. These pants fit as expected IF you follow their sizing chart. DO NOT order your normal pants size (Europeans, amirite?). I wear a 32" or 33" waist in all my other pants, but for these I ordered the US 34 / EU 50 size and they fit absolutely perfectly. Overall, I can't say enough good things about these pants and this brand. Fjallraven is now my go-to for outdoor pants, no question. I also bought a pair of Barents Pro Jeans for casual / everyday use (I'm a photographer and I want something I can beat up on a bit) and they have the toughness of the Vidda Pros without the cargo pockets, and have more of a casual, everyday look, while still being super tough.

Review - size and other stuff
I have only one dislike - the metal "button" that closes the waist. When it is snug, the button is twisted to the side and that makes one side of the portion of the button that attaches to the pants angle into my waist. Better with a sewn on button. That said, yes the pants are super tough. More pockets than I can use, but having no back pockets takes getting used to. They have fixed the previously reported problem of the lace hook at the bottom of each trouser leg grabbing the occasional toenail when pulling the trousers on by reversing the hook AND recessing it into a little hidden pouch. The material does pick up some cat hair, but it wipes off easily. I have never waxed pants. As these pants come out of the package, most water beads up and runs off.I am 6 foot tall, weigh 208 with a moderate belly. I wear 36x32 Levi jeans (which are a bit tight). The Vidda Pro 54mm Regular fits me very nicely. I was surprised that the pant legs may be an inch longer than needed, since one youtu.be reviewer about my height/weight said he preferred the Long length. I also have a pair of Barents 52mm which are TOO SMALL in the waist for me to comfortably wear without unbuttoning the metal waist button and relying on the belt. When I test while riding my bicycle, I will update.

Great fit. Durable materials.
The fit and finish on these pants are exceptional. I love every part of them. I would give them 5 stars, partly because they didn’t come with a small block of Greenland wax. I made my own, because I’m a diy’er, and will be waxing them within the next week. The other part of that star is that the pants are actually not made in Sweden. In fact they are made in Vietnam. Other than these two minor glitches, i am very pleased at the fit and durability of the material.

My Favorite Outdoor Pants
I'm 5'-11" and these were the right length. I also ordered the Long version but they were waaaaay too long. My guess is they would be a good fit on people 6'-6" to 7'-0".Quality is there. Not noisy when I walk like I've seen in other reviews.Features are awesome. In particular, I really like the pockets. They are like cargo pants without the annoying excess of bulge on your legs. The organizer in the right cargo pocket is useful as well as minimal. Axe holder pocket is a nice addition too. I can also put my Silky Gomboy folding saw in it as an option. The elastic and button system on the leg cuffs are brilliant! There is even a clasp that hooks onto your laces to hold them in perfect position similar to most gaiters. What else can I say? Well worth the price! I am happy with them and it seems like they'll last a really long time.

Worth every penny.
I bought these pants expecting a problem with the fit. I am 5'6 so I often find pants too long when they only have waist size options. These pants fit PERFECTLY if you use the sizing chart correctly. I got a 48 so 32" waist and they had a little extra room that is easily fixed with a belt but can be worn comfortably without one. The material is extremely durable. I use these pants for bushcrafting and have to say they are my favorite so far. The pockets are deep and secure which allows for you to comfortably carry knives, firesteel, tinder, etc... Definitely worth the money.

Extremely comfortable, versatile pants
I love these pants, and want to clear some things up. I am a 170lb 5'11" male, I typically wear jeans 33x32. I bought the size 50 EU, and the waist fits great. They are long, so without shoes you will be stepping on the cuffs/buttons unless you cinch them at your ankles. This is a good thing though, because with the gaiter hook they are long enough to effectively block out snow at the ankle. By themselves, these are not going to keep you warm in the winter without some sort of second layer. They are very airy, loose fitting pants in the legs. Yes they are very windproof, but you will still get cold. I use a pair of merino wool long underwear beneath that allows me to trek through snow in 0 degree weather for as long as needed. They are fantastic for fall/spring weather. There are no back pockets, so I am forced to put my wallet in a front or cargo pocket which I don't like. The zipper works great, the button is hefty, and there are lots of belt loops. The standard front pockets are nice and deep, and fit fairly tightly against the leg so you will not be shoving tons of stuff into these. I get lots of compliments and inquiries about these pants while wearing them. $150 is high, but they will outlast your average pair of pants/jeans.

Too baggy - need slim cut
Like most of the durability and functionality - but too baggy overall. Like slim cut - way too baggy

Great trousers but I had to buy 2 sizes bigger than usual
Love these trousers! A lot of people have said they buy the same size as their jeans but I had to buy 2 sizes bigger but not a major problem. I have commented on the water resistance as I’ve not been out in the rain yet.
