Good looking
Very good looking, easiest to read digital watch I have had or seen. Comfortable. Function buttons work but not as well as something like a Timex IronMan Classic. Overall, a good buy.

Amazing fit and feel...wish it had an alarm feature.
Received the watch today and absolutely LOVE the fit and feel! This is my third Nixon and I love their watches.AMAZING look and feel and fit!Wish it had an alarm feature...otherwise, love the watch!UPDATE:I purchased this watch in April. Immediately loved the feel of the watch. After wearing and using everyday for 4 months, I wish I could return or exchange! The paint scratches off really quickly and way too easily. Being a meta watch, I would have never guessed this in the first few months. The buttons are really difficult to use. I have to press them over and over again to get them to work. The fastening pieces on the band are bulky and get caught on everything!Bummed I spent $150 on this watch! My 3rd Nixon. After wearing Nixon watches for 13 years, I expected a lot more!I don’t recommend buying this watch!

Absolute garbage!
For the price, I expected a durable, easy to use, functional watch. The Nixon Heat is NONE of these things.First, it arrived broken. The bar holding the band to the watch appears to be held in place with a single VERY thin screw. That screw was broken, and since Nixon opted to use a proprietary bar instead of a standard spring bar, there is no replacing it (unless Nixon sells them on their site). Now, I've worn glasses for over 30 years, so I am no stranger to tiny screws. Screws for glasses are plenty tough (when made from steel). I doubt that Nixon used steel for these screws (I've only seen aluminium screws break like this). At least it broke in shipping, and not while being worn out and about after the return window closed!Second, this thing is very user UN-friendly. It only has two buttons, and each button has two functions based on press or press-and-hold. This makes navigation and changes to the time/timer take far too long, assuming that the buttons actually work/register (see below).Third, the buttons barely work right out of the box! I would have to press a button multiple times before the watch would recognize that one was pressed. This made setting the watch a nightmare, as it was impossible to predict when the buttons would actually work. The illumination function requires that both buttons be pressed simultaneously, a feat which is not possible with only one hand (due to failed button design). I could only get the thing to light up once by using both thumbs, a single digit just would not cut it.To sum up, the screws are of a very fragile proprietary design, it's a nightmare to use, and basic functions do not work reliably. I've bought watches that cost less than 10% of the price of the Nixon Heat that were FAR more durable, and that ACTUALLY worked!

Great watch for telling time, just not at night!
While definitely not perfect, this watch does check off most of my boxes for a great every-day-wear:Displays time in clean and large typeface, is comfortable, somewhat rugged, and looks good enough to wear with most outfits in most situations. It’s not too “sporty” and even though it resembles an Apple Watch at a quick glance, in person there’s no mistaking it’s not(I hate the look of the Apple Watch).Personally I wanted a watch for conveniently telling the time; not tracking my steps, not telling me the tides, and not for connecting via bluetooth for notifications. This watch is relatively good in that regard as it’s very simple - It’s a no frills watch that has dual time zones, all of the timer functions, yet sadly no alarm function(which makes zero sense to me).I really like the dual time zone implementation as I work bicoastal. The timer and stopwatch functions are easy to use as well - perfect if you’re someone who likes to work without their phone, yet be able to set yourself a timer to take a break in “x” amount of time. This watch is very comfortable (I have small wrists), light weight, and has a slim profile.Overall this watch doesn’t feel like the most rugged. Time will tell, but I feel like I’m going to break or scratch the face at some point - something I never worried about with a Casio/gshock or similar watch. They do however market this as more of a fashion watch than an action sports watch imo, so that’s I guess to be expected.****Hands down my biggest gripe with this watch is how hard it is to activate the backlight!Comparing this to a Casio 5600 series watch, it’s equally frustrating…but shouldn’t be. With the Casio you have to clamp your thumb and pointer fingers around both sides of the watch, but the buttons are too recessed to easily do this with larger hands-I assumed with the placement of the buttons on The Heat that you would simply be able to use your thumb or pointer to hit both buttons at the same time. While you can easily cover and press both buttons at the same time, the internal programming of the watch makes it nearly impossible to actually nail hitting both buttons to activate the light. It makes you feel like an idiot because even when you focus hard and make a game out of it, it will defeat you over 75% of the time; leaving you in the dark having to guess the time, or worse pull out your phone to see the time, totally defeating the whole purpose of having a watch. Heck, even removing the watch and using both thumbs to press the buttons(video game style), you still get the same hit rate. Honestly, as I’m writing this review I’m realizing how I’ve been lying to myself saying that it’s ok for the watch to only illuminate 25% of the time when pressing the buttons. Not to mention once you do get it to illuminate, you’ll be on the wrong mode to even see the time. I don’t think this is a “bad copy” situation as there’s quite a few other reviews that state the same.If you are looking for a watch with larger typeface that’s a bit more rugged, I would look at the gshock gbd-200. You get so much more for the money, it just doesn’t look anywhere near as good.So overall…Pros:- Slim profile- Lightweight- Super comfortable- Large typeface- Looks goodCons:- Essentially useless backlight.- Face is exposed making it more prone to scratches and damage.- no alarm function/vibrateAll that being said, I think watch manufactures have totally lost touch - it’s REALLY hard to find a good looking and reliable digital watch that is awesome at just telling the time in a convenient way. Given the rise in smart watches, I’m sure the market has to be super tough for everyone, but I believe with beautiful design and convenient functionality, we can give all of the gimmicky sports watches and smart watches a run for their money.

Orologio inutilizzabile.
