Very nice! Wanted to learn silk ribbon embroidery. Before I purchase a lot of misc supplies thought I would get this kit to give it a go. If I found I like silk ribbon embroidery after doing this print than I would invest. Kit is very nice with all the supplies and instructions I need. Needles, threads, pattern, hoop, silk ribbons and instructions... Will post my results soon!

I do lots of embroidery, but have never tried this. Love it. Directions are in both Chinese and English. Stitch diagrams are easy to follow. For my first project it's beautiful.Forgot, this kit comes with everything...needles, embroidery hoop and even a pair of scissors! Stitch instructions are in English and Chinese.

hoop came without the screw to tighten it. need pliers to get the needle and ribbon through the canvas. instructions are poor. materials look cheap. Can't return since I've tried to work with it.

This worked up beautifully. This was my second project of with this format, and the directions were great. I had ribbon left over.

Really enjoyed working on this project. I did run out of some of the light green ribbon; however, this could have been me as I have never done ribbon embroidery before.

There is no question that the finished piece is absolutely beautiful. I bought this to "introduce" myself to ribbon embroidery. I was able to figure out how to do the stitches, thanks to the fact that I have been doing embroidery with floss for many decades, but if I had to rely on the directions provided, I would have been lost at sea. There is definitely a language gap. Having said that, the kit provided everything one could possibly need to work the project, including the embroidery hoop and a small pair of scissors! I chose to use a wooden frame rather than the hoop because the hoop wasn't quite large enough to fit the entire embroidery within it. However, it's a nice hoop and I will be using it on other projects.I'm 71 and have been embroidering since I was six. At this point, I have arthritis in all my joints. That made it very difficult for me to pull the ribbon through the background fabric. I found I needed to use several items in order to get the ribbon through the fabric...first, a turkey lacer to make a small hole, followed by a kebab stick to widen that hole. Eventually, I used an upholstery needle, rather than the heavy-duty embroidery needle provided with the kit (of which I broke several). Still even with making the hole larger, it was difficult to get the ribbon through, so I used needle-nosed pliers for that part of the job. For the large rose, I wound up making the center of the rose and then sewing it into place, and doing the same with the petals. The ribbon was simply too wide and it was painful to try to get it through. I've included my finished project, which you will see differs from what was stamped on the kit fabric (I added a few flowers to fill-in white space and also changed the color of the red rose bud...I thought the red clashed with the rest of the colors. The tools I used are also pictured.

I'm a beginner at this. While the finished picture is beautiful (which is why I decided to buy this), I found the instructions and photos too small and of poor quality. I do believe this is made in China, and I found the English translation of the instructions sometimes unclear and confusing. This, coupled with small photos, made it difficult for me to follow, and I made several mistakes which resulted in my running out of certain ribbons and floss! If I were experienced or an expert at ribbon embroidery, I would probably be very happy w/ this kit. Because of these reasons, I will not purchase Egoshop kits again, although I just love their offerings!
