The design of the clock is terrific! Has that aircraft cockpit vibe, and it's very easy to read the dial and hands. Unfortunately, when I inserted the battery, the clock ran for 10 days or so, then stopped. I replaced the factory-issued battery with a brand-new energizer, and the clock ran smoothly for 2 days--- then stopped.I tapped it, rotated it, and made sure the connections were tight...no dice. I can't have a clock with poor reliability, so I just tossed it into a drawer. Never had a small battery clock just stop without cause.

I have a wind up aviation clock and I wanted a quartz one too. This one came without the wind knob on the front, which is fine since you don't wind it and it may break off anyway, but the hands are not luminous which is a real problem in dim or no light. When I first put the battery in and set the time the hands moved briefly and stopped dead. I tried re-inserting the battery, tapped the clock, worked the hands back and forth. Finally I gave the clock a sharp a yee olde sharp slap on the side and it started moving again. It keeps good time as a quartz clock does, but without the luminous hands it isn't very useful compared to other travel clocks. That's why the low rating.

This thing keeps Terrible time, loses almost 5 minutes a day. Leave your desk for a weekend and you could be late for everything. Would not buy again.

Very nice gift. Simple but functional. Alarm is set for only 12 hours so turn it on before bed to get up in the morning.
