Long Handled Spring Action Shoe Horn

All has been said so, this will be short. Rather light weight but completely functional. Those who said that it broke or came apart with use must have ill fitting footwear or else they are using them on 8" work boots. I had thought that I'd use my old 4" long shoe horn and just screw it to a narrow and thin piece of cherry from my shop. After all, that spring is superfluous, I thought. But, a failing back made me order this and I found that the spring made for less effort and movement on my part ( Capt. Obvious, here.). So, unless you are wrestling on a pair of work boots, you leave your shoes too tightly tied and try to work your foot in without untying the shoes, ooooor, you're a big hulk of a person and weigh from the mid 200s up, you should be ok with this.

The item arrived on time and was exactly as described. However, the spring that is installed between the horn part and the handle makes it impossible for me to apply the pressure required to slide my foot into the shoe. So I returned the item.

I like to keep my tennis shoes tied when on or off. So, I find this shoe horn a great way to stand up and put on my shoes. No need to bend over or place fingers between shoe and foot to put on shoes. The spring connection allows perfect and comfortable positioning of foot-heal-to-shoe entry. I'll occasionally loosen and retie my shoe laces (couple times a year). I like the shoe horn. I bought one for my grandson and he uses it every day.

I purchased two Jockey Long-Handled Shoe Horns. One is for my mother who is 85 years old and has severe arthritis and can not bend over very far. The other was for myself as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. My mom can now put her shoes on without help and it certainly makes it easier for me. The quality is excellent. We couldn't be happier.

THIS SHOE HORN IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PUT MY FOOT INTO THE SHOE USING THE JOCKEY LONG HANDLED SHOE HORN,IT CAME LOOSE FROM THE SPRING,RENDERING IT USELESS.I SEE NO REASON FOR THE SHOE HORN TO HAVE A SPRING ON IT.WHILE LONG HANDLED SHOE HORNS ARE VERY HELPFUL. THIS ONE WITH THE SPRING ON IT IS A COMPLETE "BUST".DON'T WASTE MONEY ON IT!

I like the looks of this shoe horn however, the light weight metal used on the horn bends to easy, and the chrome coating flakes off, presenting a cutting hazard.

This shoe horn is great for people who have a hard time bending. It has a spring right above the part that goes into your shoe so that it fits into your shoe easily. I bought this for my father and he just loves it.
