I am particular about my brushes for watecolor. Some brushes have no spring at all when wet. I tend to not like those as much but will use them. Other brushes have spring but hold little paint. I am not fond of those either. I do like some true kolinsky brushes but they tend to be expensive and attractive to moths- as me how I know THAT.When I saw these, I did not hold out much hope as I have many brushes I am not wild about. Then I used them.HANDLESThe handles are comfortable to hold and the right length for me. They are not too short or too long.BRUSH HEADSWOW. I have to say I am impressed. These have the perfect balance of spring and loading of paint when it comes to watercolor. I love how smoothly they apply the paint, glide over the paper, and then spring back perfectly when lifted.PRECISIONThese have precision heads. I have to say when wet, the point on the round brushes remind me of the Kolinsky Dragon Tongue Brush that I LOVE. This one stays very precise when wet and it will allow me to either deposit a nice broad stroke or make a tiny little squiggle with just the tip.HAIR LOSSThere has not been any hair loss or degradation of bristles in the months I have used these.OVERALL PERFORMANCEI have to say that these are WAY nicer than I expected. I have tested them over a long period and I have to say that I reach for these more than most of the brushes I have which is saying something. I absolutely love painting with these.THE BOTTOM LINEThese come in a nice gift box, but the performance and precision of these brushes are what really impresses me the most.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. These are excellent brushes. I was really taken off guard with these. I was just using them again last night and raving about how wonderful they are and decided it was time to tell you all just how special these are for the price.

It’s been a few years since I’ve painted anything and wanted to get back into it. My kids, however, have used my other paintbrushes over the years and although they’re great artists, their ability to take care of paint brushes lacks greatly. So, I was needing new brushes before diving back in and I’m so glad I went with these! The handles are fantastic for holding-you can just feel the quality when holding these! The bristles seem durable and haven’t shed yet-not even when cleaning. I haven’t used them for very long so I can’t speak for long time use but so far I’m very impressed. I’ve also only used with acrylic but am very happy with the precision these bristles provide!! Very satisfied and highly recommend!

Great value in this set of brushes!They are definitely designed to be comfortable in hand and also clean really easy!The quality of the bristles are great and offer many different styles of laying color to mediums.Colors blend nicely with these, and it’s also easy to cut a nice sharp edge with the quality of the brushes.5 stars!

I've just started working with these brushes. So far they are very good. The real test comes later to see how well they retain their shapes and points after repeated use. Right now the rounds come to a great thin point--which I love.I feel confident that they will continue to work well for watercolors. Since I'm new to oil painting, I did have my doubts about using them for that purpose--especially since at first they seemed to soft to push around the oil paint. However, then I realized that these soft brushes are meant to be used for placing the top layers of paint over bottom layers since the brush is soft and it will not disturb the bottom layers of wet paint.Once again, I think these are very good brushes--only time and use will tell if they are great.

When you open these brushes, "quality" comes to mind. The presentation is excellent - they come in a solid box, individually secured with an insert describing them. I started taking painting classes during covid and these are the best brushes I have - certainly more high quality than the others I've purchased. They are comfortable, the hairs stay intact on the brush (no shedding on the painting) and are easy to clean. I feel that any amateur artist would be very happy with these.
