If you put ANY item on upside down or left instead of the right then things won't match up. Don't cut the wood to make it fit. Put the left board on the right side instead. Instructions were horrible. Pics only. Seller sent me to vm everytime. Also dowells didn't fit that hold top bunk to bottom. Had to go cut my own. DON'T buy a tall mattress for bottom bunk or you'll have no breathing room to breathe or lay down. Wood split in some areas. The slide is for a 8 year old not any younger. I should've listened to the other reviews before I got myself excited about a slide. All in all it's a cute bed. The drawers underneath hard to understand instructions so they'll have to wait. Make sure you have help especially with the stairs. (A second person and a drill.) Doing by hand took WAY too long! Listen to my words and you'll be prepped.

I take back what I said, after I had help to assemble this product it turned out to be a good buy. It’s going to be hard to figure out but once it’s complete, you will love the bed.

We picked this bed because of the slide, but it is not what we expected. It's a steep and hard slide. Our 4 year old went down it and hurt his butt and thigh on the bottom/side. We tried to cover it, but he's afraid to get hurt again. Be careful if you have younger children. You'll probably have to guide them down, so they don't get hurt.
