Wow ,Impressive Workbook
I liked absolutely everything about this Book. I am reading it for the 3rd time and use it like a spirituell adviser and friend.Again in this book ,like Simon Haas other Book, he brings up situations and setting, issues that are difficult to face or figure out . he is right there with deep spirituell wisdoms easy to understand and follow. his writings describe places and events with details that transported me and made me feel something that I can follow and search for within my heart. I get more out of his Books then any self help books i have read in years. Grateful for the Wisdom and Love ! Just amazing. get it ,it is special !

Profoundly deepened my practice (on and off the mat) and transformed my grief.
My asana practice feels infused by heart-melting devotion and my experience of pain and my life's challenges has shifted towards empowered surrender and a willingness to grow and serve at a greater capacity. I'm feeling deep gratitude after reading.I read this book while going through a challenging transition, my own dark-night experience; A painful breakup, moving across the world and shifting my career path. After reading it I feel empowered, grateful and motivated by sacred love. I have been aware of the content of the Bhagavad-Gita for much of my life, yet integrating it into wisdom I live has felt distant. The author's presentation of the philosophy is deeply personal and shared in a way that moved me to connect with the teachings in a refreshing, profoundly mystical and practical way. It helped me redefine what was possible for me to experience and gain from the uncomfortable transition I'm in now, and in my life in general.I feel like I can now share the wisdom of the Gita in a profoundly enriching and accessible way to students while not diluting the essence and depth of this timeless knowledge. I highly recommend yoga teachers & students and anyone wanting a profoundly connected life experience to gift themselves some time with this book!

Incredible book that will take you on a spiritual journey
This book is potentially life changing. It contains the renowned Vedic wisdom of ancient India (based on the ancient classic - the Bhagavad Gita), in a rarely accessible and relevant way. I love the way it feels like the author is speaking to the reader in an intimate conversation.Simon does a great job of making the ancient yoga philosophy powerfully relevant, very well-organized, and applicable in helping one live their full potential, as the book is filled with stories, personal anecdotes, metaphors, along with philosophical and yogic gems. One can gather that the author has traveled the roads of spiritual development (with its ups and downs) and is speaking from his own depth and experience (e.g. he lived and studied as a monk for many years). For any sincere seeker on the spiritual path interested in eastern/Vedic wisdom, I could not recommend this book enough.- A&A

Wonderful Presentation!!
Mr. Haas has helpfully addressed the periods of darkness that we all experience at some time in our lives. Modern society often allows for a small window of time for dealing with these crises, then it's business as usual, or finding ways to numb the pain.. There is not mch focus on contemplating the fact that these events , though many times extremely painful, are trying to show us some higher wisdom that is meant to help us. "Yoga and The Dark Night of the Soul" presents the teachings of the BHAGAVAD GITA in a contemporary way, so that one can assimilate and utilize these teachings to maneuver through these dark periods. Mr. Haas carefully placed footnotes at the end of each section of the book, thus the reader can easily reference texts from the BHAGAVAD GITA and other pertinent sources. Regardless of your Spiritual Path, this book contains very practical instruction on navigating the distresses of life that inevitably present themselves.I am reading this book for a second time, and given a copy to a friend. Highly recommend!

Magic Yoga experience!
This book has arrived to complete and explain the magical awakening through my physical experience doing Yoga. 2021 was a complex year for me and for sure for everyone. Also was my first year doing Yoga and practicing it, literally I had several conscience awakening (limited beliefs, personal wounds) that has helped me through my personal transformation. My recommendation: first practice some yoga, then read the book!

What a wonderful commentary on the Bhagavad Gita
What a wonderful commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. The BG used to scare me a little, until a couple of years ago I didn't get that this is about life! The chaos and the painful decisions that we as humans regularly face is outlined in this book, and what do we do about it! This commentary is so alive with rich examples of our lives. Simon himself seems like such a lovely guy too! Maybe go to his website and see what he does with the profits from the book, he's a living example of living a life of alignment.

A deep flowing stream of ancient spiritual truth
This is a very interesting book. It’s a spiritual biography, it’s a book about practical philosophy, it’s a book about connecting with God, it’s a self help book and it’s a travel book.It is also a book about the Bhagavad Gita. There is not too much fussing around before the book starts, which I like, and the author stays fast to the premise of the book. The dark night of the soul is has a river running through it, that river is deep flowing stream of ancient spiritual truth taught to him by his spiritual teacher who comes from a long unbroken ancient lineage. This book is filled with powerful life changing insights. This is a great book, however if you are suffering serious psychological difficulty please get help from professionals.

Accessible and profound
Simon Hass presents the teachings of bhakti-yoga in a way that is not rote or dogmatic, but rather shows that he's reflected deeply on each point himself, and also on how to share them.Simon is a friend and godbrother of mine, so it's especially interesting for me to see how he presents the teachings of our line. He's shed light on the path of yoga, drawing from authentic sources and from his personal experience. It's a gentle and personal book, while also being weighty and thought-provoking.In particular, Yoga and the Dark Night of the Soul is a book for anyone going through life trials, small or large, or who would like to understand the reasons such trials befall us. Cracks are where the light comes in, as they say.Trials may come to overwhelm, however we may fight them off, but the greatest troubles bring the greatest lessons, if we keep our eyes open.I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in living a life full of truth and joy.

Elegant and impactful for self-knowledge
Yoga and the Dark Night of the Soul is a gem on a book. I’ve read it twice in two months as it’s such a smooth read yet packed with wisdom in a way I found very relatable, and gives me inspiration and confidence in the effectiveness of the yogic path for a worthwhile life.I’ve now recomended this book to multiple friends who are at very different points on the yoga / self-knowledge path, and all so far have praised the book and through it found valuable insights about themselves.
