I bought this book for my 5 year old girl, after reading the reviews. But I must say that I wasn't that impressed by it's contents. It's using American English words so it wasn't too appealing for her as she didn't knew some of the words. She was quite bored whilst reading it. I need to look for other books that are more interesting and engaging.

Gorgeous story of friendship and self love. Decent illustrations. Overall really pleased.

A heartwarming story I was hoping I could use to encourage love of animals and not eating them but does mention feeding chicken to the cat. However, I really love the meaning here. The little girl reaches out to a cat and a new child in school who seems a bit out of place. We can all do with showing a bit more love in our actions and from the heart. Just like esperanza.
