ANOTHER EXCELLENT COLLECTION OF EARLY POPS
I am writing violoncello parts for selections from this anthology of early "adult standards", and have already performed many of them at an adult birthday gig in an elegant venue in a nearby city. The piano arrangements in the book are nicely filled out, and are in a rather nice variety of simple keys ranging from C to G to F to Bb. Each song has chord symbols provided for further filling out the harmonies by a skilled pianist. I'm having a wonderful time of building for myself a library of lovely melodies for 'cello. Very pleased!

It's good for beginners
The book will be great for beginners because the whole book is in the key of C. It's very simple and easy to understand. For me (intermediate level) I need a book with it's original key. I wouldn't recommend it for higher level piano players

Perfect, beautifully arranged, informative piano book!
I have a large collection of piano books and this is one of my favorites. Each song has a paragraph detailing when and by whom it was written. If it was in a movie originally they list it and give interesting facts about others who recorded it and facts about the song or writer. I highly recommend this book and others by Dan Fox.

Piano Music
The book is great for those who actually have talent or are willing to practice. I thought this was "Easy Piano" and it isn't. At least it isn't for me. My husband leaves when I get serious about learning another instrument, so I'm satisfied "dribbling on the keys".

another nice "easy piano" book
This one is arranged by Dan Fox, which is hit or miss for me. Most of the songs i really like how they are arranged. Every once in awhile, there is one that is a little weird. It does have my favorite arrangement of "Embraceable You," i have many arrangements of that, but i wish it had a repeat, i have to make my own little transition to repeat it.It has contents by title, and then contents by decade, which is nice. I play at nursing homes, and am returning to piano after over 20 years away, so it is easy enough for me to play many of these songs without alot of practice, and if someone requests something, i can dive into most of them. I love "Misty," but it is in Eflat Major, so i am going to have to practice it a little more before i can play it in public. Most of the songs are as you would expect for "easy piano," that is: for an intermediate player, not a beginner, and having 2 or fewer sharps or flats. Large notes (but not "big note" which is something else) and not really anything faster than an eighth note.Contents by Decade:1920sFive Foot Two, Eyes of BlueLet's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)1930'sAs Time Goes ByDream a Little Dream of MeEmbraceable YouI Get a Kick Out of YouI Only Have Eyes for YouI've Got You Under My SkinLove Is Here To StayMy Funny Valentine1940'sAlmost Like Being in LoveAt LastI Could Write a BookLauraTaking a Chance on LoveYou'll Never Know1950'sI've Grown Accustomed to Her FaceLove is a Many Splendored ThingMistyTeach Me TonightThree Coins in the FountainWhen I Fall in Love1960'sEmily(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and HigherSomewhere, My LoveThis Magic MomentWhen a Man Loves a Woman1970'sCan You Read My Mind? Three Stars
A little too easy for my early intermediated student. Passed it on to another who thought he'd like it.

Piano music book
There’s a good selection of pieces, but they are a little bit too simplified, and mostly in the key of C. But - for a more advanced player, there is scope to add chords etc to make the songs more interesting.

'simple' but interesting
Good selection; some of the arrangements are 'simplified' to the point of being boring.
