excellent
it is a very handy book with very straightforward language. It gives an outline of immense importance about stylistics, its history and the scope of it and its intertwined nature with other disciplines.

Poorly structured and unclear.
I use this book for University. This book makes the already difficult subject of Stylistics even more difficult, as you fight though the unclear language in order to find some meaning. This book is poorly structured, and badly written. This book is not the one that will aid learning. But at best, could be used for referencing while writing an essay.Stylistic by Simpson, is much better structured and systemically takes you through the subject of stylistics in a controlled and understandable way. This book lacks control, and therefore is very difficult to learn from. Overall very disappointed.

Would not recommend
This book is very difficult to read and poorly structured. It makes a subject that is not easy a lot more difficult than it should be.
