Learning Resources Giant Magnetic Ten Frame Set - Math Manipulatives, Teacher Supplies, Back to School, Ages 5+

I use these regularly in my TK/K classroom on my magnetic whiteboard. I dont usually allow students to 'play' with them, I use them for teaching and do call on students to use the dots to model the number as part of our lessons, so they hold up fine for me. If you choose to let students explore and play with them as a less-structured activity, you may find them less durable, but then there are other products out there that are better-suited to student exploration. I had my first set for several years, but a naughty student stole some of the dots and I couldn't recover them, so I had to re-purchase. The newer set has dots with a soft swirl design (still blue & green) vs the solid colors used before.

This math manipulative is a great product. It is very sturdy and comes with amble pieces. I use these in my small group and it works for magnetic services or non-magnetic. The pieces can be a little hard to pick up.

I have been utilizing ten frames (and five frames) for nearly five years! I feel this is one of the best tools developed in order to aide early childhood learners in developing solid numeracy skills! Having this magnetic set has aided me in enabling my Kindergarteners to be able to "see" equations! They have been formulating their own equations and "prove it" by using the ten frames. Important Note: Be sure to utilize them in horizontal AND vertical orientations! Be sure to connect both to written equations.

I use these daily in my classroom. My students are able to see the number of the week in 10 frame form. We count the number 1 to 1 as I fill in the frame with the colorful magnetic dots. They are the perfect weight and size. The magnetic quality is great. The magnets don’t slide down and stay exactly where I put them for the entire day.

I absolutely loved this set! I was originally a bit confused as to what I would get based on the description and other feedback. Let me start by saying that all the pieces are magnetic. The ten frames are included. There is some "assembly/disassembly" needed when you first get the set. It arrived as magnetic sheets. You simply pop out the circles. The circles have a a little square frame around them that can be tossed, but I up cycled mine by gluing the students' school pictures on some card stock backing and gluing that to the square magnetic frame that held the circle dots= magnet picture keepsakes for the parents and less waste. As for the actual product-we loved it in my kindergarten classroom. It really helped giving a visual and kinestetic approach to addition, subtraction, and subutizing. As I move on to higher grade levels, I can see myself using this item for basic fraction/percent introduction.

The product photo is a bit misleading. From the photo, I was expecting a magnetic black ten-frame on a white board, which I can then use on a desk. Instead, you get four magnetic sheets. You have to punch out the color disks and their surrounding square from the ten-frame. The ten-frame is a good size and easy to manipulate. But, you will need a magnetic white board. Probably a great product for schools, but not for home use, unless you have a magnetic white board.

I purchased this set to introduce the use of ten-frames to my four-year-old grandson. This set is identical to those used at nearby elementary schools to teach a variety of math concepts including counting (even beyond 10), addition, subtraction, even and odd numbers, calendar skills, etc. I like the strong magnets which can be used on a magnetic white board or even on the fridge. Also, the pieces are very sturdy and easy for little hands to manipulate. I am very pleased with my purchase.

These 10-Frames are large enough that my entire Kindergarten class can see them clearly. I enjoy that the dots are in two different colors, which helps with addition and subtraction. The kids love to move the dots (a little too much sometimes.) I need to buy 2 more packs of these, because I usually want to do more problems than just 2. I have acrylic nails and the dots take a little more effort for me to remove from my magnetic easel than I would like. Also, you might want to have a Ziploc bag to keep track of the dots.

Love these! Good quality and cheeper then the teacher store! I use them daily in my class as part of calendar and the pieces hold up to kid use. And the nice thing is, the squares are a good enough size that if anything happened to them, you could get many different types of circle magnets from the dollar store and use them instead. Really like this product! Way better then the electrical tape that I put on my board before.

Bought these for my classroom to hold magnets with each students name on it for taking attendance. It’s a great visual to show how many students are present and the quality seems great so far.

This was used with my kindergarten and grade 1 students. They were highly engaged and had benefited from the use of this learning tool. Highly recommended.

Great magnetic ten-frame. I wish the frame was a little thicker but the kids like using it!
