Do they smell? Seems like a lot of reviews on similar products had to deal with a smell that sometimes didn't go away

Mine don't smell...just put them to my nose to be sure. I have 3, 5, 6, 10 & 12 pounders. I realy like mine.

What is the width of the handles?

Measuring all the way around the handle is about 5 inches, with the width a little over 1 1/2 inches (wasn't quite sure what you meant by width.)
