It's a better product than the adapter with the center pin.
This charger is a better design than the one with the small pin in the center. The other design's pin thickness is quite thin, and the toothbrush being top heavy and tall, has a tendency to break that pin. I did not expect my electric toothbrush to fit snugly in this adapter I purchased, so using two trimmed felt pieces with adhesive, I placed each felt to the curved vertical section of the charger. My toothbrush fits perfectly and does not tip over.
