Possum Come A-Knockin' (Dragonfly Books)

This is a book I was obsessed with as a child and was so excited to introduce my nieces to this book such a fun read and the flow of it makes it easy to almost sing it. Super cute book and goofy would recommend to any and everyone

I use this book with my kindergarten music students, where we read it and they play rhythm sticks or mallet percussion when the possum knocks. It requires that they listen and pay attention to know when come in. The illustrations and the silly story help to draw them in. Especially the "sis and brother start a'cussin' part", which always gets a "aww...they're going to get in trouble!!" Reaction.

I grew up reading Possum Come a Knockin’ in the 90s, so now that I have a child of my own, this was on the shortlist of books to purchase! The book is such a fun read and has such a great rhythm to it. It definitely takes some practice to get down pat, I still struggle! It’s such a great experience to read with my daughter. This was my favorite book as a child. I have bought it multiple times and have used it as a card for baby showers. The hard back and paper back are both great quality, and the book always gets a laugh from people who have never read it.

This was my favorite book as a child. The story is unique and fun and there's a rhyming theme that almost makes it into a song. It really is a fun read, I gifted this book to my nephew (2 years) and he really enjoyed it being read to him!

This is one of the most delightful, fun and entertaining children’s books I’ve read in a long time. It has such an entertaining story but the rhythm of it makes it a fun read. I enjoy reading it over and over to my grandchildren and they love hearing it too. I would highly recommend it to others.

I bought it for an upcoming baby shower, hope the next generation loves it as much. It's fun to read!! Unfortunately, it did come a little bent.

Ich hatte das Buch vor Jahren in USA gekauft und habe jetzt wieder eine Kopie über Amazon gekauft, nachdem meine Tochter das Original für ihre eigenen Kinder mitgenommen hat. Es macht Spass, den melodischen Text vorzulesen, die Bilder sind lustig.

Kids like it, I like it…we’ve read it many many times and keep coming back to it. It has a really fun rhythm!

I borrowed a copy of this book from the library years ago when my son was very young. For years this book came up in conversation which always ended with "I should see if I can find a copy". This book is now in my library waiting for the first grandchild to come along.
