Canon EOS Rebel T5i/700D Digital Field Guide

I'm not quite finished with this ebook yet, but I am impressed with it so far. I tend to read a bit, then go to my camera and try out whatever feature I just learned about, then go back to read more...and continue in this manner until I finish the book. I like the book and would recommend it to others. I just wish there was a book I could read about Magic Lantern which I installed on my Canon T5i so I could more fully take advantage of its many enhanceed semi-pro features and additional photo and video options.

Let's be real, no book contains every bit of information that you might need to know but this one seems to cover the material rather well. It also goes into how to for various situations. It does a good job of making sense of the rather plain technical speak of the Canon manual. The print is larger and the words don't fade into the paper like in an Owners Guide.As a field guide it's a little too tall and a little too wide. It's fine for a backpack but either needs a large camera bag or is too large for your preferred bag. I prefer the Magic Lantern size and hope they'll be coming out with a T5i guide in the near future.As of now I'd recommend this book keeping the size limitations in mind.

Look, how hard is it to bind a book in today's world? Obviously, too hard for Wiley Publications. The pages started falling out the first time the book was opened, largely due to poor adhesive on the page ends.Too bad too, since this is a good reference manual, one that far outstrips the camera manual for usefullness. I would recommend any Canon Rebel user who is new to their camera purchase this manual and read it, camera in hand, cover to cover. Afterwards, find a way to keep it with you in the field as a ready reference (however, it is larger than the manual).

Informative, but pages fell out.

Don't normally give 5 stars , but this book is awesome hell of a lot better than manual that comes with camera . Own a couple of Rebels and Elan ii e and a Canon SX 60 but this little camera is essentially a small computer. So this book goes a long way in clearing up most the questions I had about the Rebel T5i that the OEM manual didn't . I am so happy that I was able to find this book on Amazon . NICE ! !

This book is a nice combination of basic photography information and information about how the Canon Rebel T5i works. Both types of information were what I needed to enjoy the new camera my wife gave me as a gift to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The manual that came with the camera was hard for me to see because of its small print and difficult to understand because some of the explanations were vague or overly brief. This book solved both those issues for me. Great camera. Buy the book and carry it in your camera bag.

A little disappointed in overall size of book and therefore font size but suppose that is whyit is called a field guide. Just wish I did not have to put on magnifying glasses to read it.(I have 20 - 20 vision except up close)

I am enjoying this book I have always used a different brand of cameras and this is really helping me understand my new canon and compared to the manual that comes with the camera this is a whole lot easier to read. The author also makes it easier to understand the settings on the camera. It's like taking a course on the T5i

While the content is quite good, the quality of the binding of the paperback edition is atrocious. I handle my books carefully and I have not used this guide all that often in the time I have had it and many of the pages have come away from the spine which makes it a nightmare to use. At this price and from a well-known publisher like Wiley I expected better. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Disappointing! Having said that, this book would probably be ideal for anyone using the 700D as entry into digital photography.

Its everything you needed to know about a DSLR its very good and easy to understand!😇

A must for Canon 700Ders
