Thank You! I did not notice that! The package is correct, the i/8 is 168 inches and the 3/32 is 156 inches. The description has been corrected

Q: I just need to replace the cables on the latch, both sides. Will this kit work? I'd need a way to secure the cables to the hardware once I cut to size

Yes it will. Use the smaller set of cables (3/32" diameter). They have a loop on one end and there are two cable clamps to secure the other end. There is also two compression sleeves which came make two more loops. You can also cut the existing loop off and use the cable clamps on one end of the cable to fasten to the hardware and the compressions sleeves to fasten the other end of the cable.

Q: Will this kit work for a 7 foot tall garage door with extension springs?

This kit worked to replace the cables on my garage door. Can't say for sure that it will work for you.
