Interesting world filled with fun characters
Though not a world I would happily live in, it is an interesting one none the less. There was a ton of action, adventure, magic, and intrigue. I recommend this book, and this looks to be the start of a fun series.

Another Interesting story
This is a well written and intriguing book. The main characters are fun, interesting, and with good character. The evil character is indeed despicable and the story is a good one. The plot is easily followed and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Good!
Kept me reading from start to finish in one night. Well written and the characters are very well developed. Planning on reading more by this author.

This author is worth checking out
I started with a different series by this author and have found him to be one of the better “unknown” writers that I’ve found through kindle unlimited. I find the first book of this series feels more juvenile. The plot is too obviously taken from the plight of the Jewish nation leading up to the holocaust. Another reviewer called it a clever retelling. I guess you’ll have to read and see which side of that fence you fall. Despite all this, I am interested enough to try book 2.

Winnie is a magic user, and that is her trade. A trade that’s now illegal.
What is the owner of charms supposed to do now. The shop is run by a person who enchants objects with magic. Magic that is now illegal. Winnie, has been running the shop for her sick mother for years, and it’s the only way to provide for them. She has to figure out what to do, everything is up to her now. The business that her and her friends have started on, has become something more than they will know. A fight between good and evil, and they will all become something more.

Great read
Very twisty and gripping. Hard to put down. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Interesting dimension that you transported us to in this book.

The main character is Awesome.
This book has a fantastic story line. So many books fall into the same ole same trap. This one was new and fresh and had great characters to boot. Can't wait for the next installment!

Dark but good
This series blends elements based on Hitler & the Jewish Holocaust, the Hunger Games, Game of Thrones & a dystopian future affected by climate change & wraps it up within a tale of Arthurian Legend. It’s darker than many series that involve fairies, dragons & monsters of legend, with no guarantee the heroes survive and I had a bit of trouble at the start with liking the main character, as she embraced the illegal far more readily than I would have expected to. Although it shows how quickly ideals & morals are put aside first to survive, then to push back when your life & freedom are under threat. But once you get into the momentum, you’ll probably read the series in a couple of days like I did.

Rather long winded
I found the style rather long winded. Needed more punch to the sentences.I did not feel much empathy with the characters or their behaviours. They were thinly drawn with only one, Winnie, being at all partially described as to her thoughts etc. Clearly intended as a long saga but I shall not follow it up.

An amazing read!!
The blurb indicated that if you like The Hallows series, you'd enjoy this...and I completely agree!!! Powerful men wanting to control magic even to the detriment of everyone else, but there are those that will fight by any means necessary. A wonderful opening full of magic, mystery, adventure, family and friends, and hidden evil. Definitely a series that I will be adding to my TBR list...want more of this adventure!!
