A review of two halves
This series is a great fun read, sex scenes kind of get in the way, but they're part of the way Amy Sumida writes so they are what they are. What lets this whole series down, and lets it down seriously, is the continual errors in grammar, punctuation and such like. Did no-one proof-read each of these books? Nearly every page on the Kindle editions has an error, and some are so unbelievable that it beggars belief. Here's an example "Brahma drug his wife into another room" Drug? WTH? It should be "Brahma dragged his wife into another room". This example doesn't just happen once in one book, but one that runs through several books. Errors between your/you're, effect/affect, apostrophes on plurals, and so on. It's very tiring to read and very tiring to have to keep advising Kindle/Amazon of each error.

The Godhunter Vervain budding champion of humanity....
Or an irreverent series of adventures through the assorted pantheons myths and legends of the different cultures of earth with Vervain (not Vivian) Lavine Witch, ‘Godhunter‘ and The God Squad who are an assorted group of gods from different pantheons who have taken it upon themselves to fight on behalf of humans against other gods who seek to use them for their own usually permanent ends. The God Squad stand by their original promises to act in the best interests of humanity. In this version of earth the gods have their divinity due to the faith and beliefs of the humans that did or do follow them. This is the 1st in a large ongoing series (31+) and whilst there is a lot of very well sexual content the books are well written there’s also a steady diet of information on assorted gods and their pantheons from around the world. Vervain killed her first god pretty much by accident, it was self defence. The subsequent kills were due to a fear of retaliation from other gods as well as a desire to protect other humans from the supernatural.I found Vervain to be a very relatable character she’s a long way from being perfect, but she’s also impulsive, funny, caring and loyal with a propensity to scatter quotes from a range of films and books bad habit of goading her enemies during battle. As the only child to a single mother she has deep seated abandonment issues together with low self esteem, so she’s quite self conscious of her appearance (like me and other women everywhere). Then again who wouldn’t have low self esteem, after all she is dealing with gods!In some books the themes are quite dark, with potentially disturbing plot lines for some readers, our heroine doesn’t live an easy or quiet life anywhere in her near future. There are several instances where Vervain is taken by her enemies in which she suffers a tremendous amount of pain and suffering, notably books 4 and 6 should probably have Trigger Warnings attached to them. Despite the darkness and suffering I found the content to be presented honestly and with understanding, added to which the resolution of those storylines was cathartic. There is a vast amount of research from the author within these books, ultimately as with most books it’s a study of human nature even though most of the characters aren’t technically human.I started this series just over a month ago and finished it a couple of days ago, in addition I’ve read some of the author’s other work. Ms Sumida has a very engaging writing style that has Vervain relaying events to the reader including the essential inner monologue. Of the different series written the author has given accounts of the myths and legends including faerie tales and the realm of Faerie and so far I’ve encountered four different versions of Faerie including (1) Summer/ Winter, (2) Light/ Dark / Twilight, (3) Elemental [Earth/ Air etc] (4) Gem Stones [lots of territories each aligned with gems so; Sapphire/ Ruby/ Onyx etc.]. She has an epic imagination and excels at storytelling.I read this book via Kindle Unlimited (best purchase ever!) and honestly can’t recommend this author enough. After a month of read I’m definitely a fan.

Pretty darned amazing (some spoilers)
Found this on FB, can't believe I've never read this awesomeness before. It feel like it can be a contemporary like real life epicness. So it starts off kinda like lone warrior against the gods, gets caught up in some extra crazier stuffs including meeting her first protector. Gets a bit dark in some places but I reckon it makes it more real surprisingly, ends with her awakening and having 2 love interests. Got some great recommended books at the end of the book I'll be looking into. Definitely recommend this if you love empowered women with a love of justice. Not if you have triggers of rape and torture.

Absolutely loved it!!!
The cover, title and blurb was what caught my eye on this and wow! Witch hunting gods but if course there are two sides. Meeting gods who know who and what she is (refer to book title) but that is when the fun begins. With vampires with a twist, werewolves and a few more lead you right down a wonderful rabbit hole. If you like Hammilton you will enjoy this book....and it certainly means this is a series I will be adding to my ever growing TBR....right at the top!!

I'm 26 books in...
I mean, is there a better compliment than saying this booked hooked me so much I ended up reading almost 26 books in the series? I did have to stop at some point though cause I was missing a little someone someone who doesn't seem to make as many appearances in the later books, sad times. So, this series is on pause, but just beware, if you read this book you're more than likely going to have your next 25 to-read books sorted for you!

What a fantastic read and its FUN!
OMG such a brilliant book.An extremely strong female lead, who's mouth rivals that of my own so I lmao nearly ALL the way thru the book.Vervain is FAN-TAB-ULOUS! She's got a killer set of one liners, rivaled only by her God killing abilities. She comes under, and I REALLY mean UNDER, Thors hand and BOY is it fun with Baby Thunder and the God Squad!Throw in a deranged God, a werewolf that also wants her, you get a brill romp.No idea what I'm talking about the READ THE BOOK..........................NOW!

Obsessed
I am a history nerd, an ancient history graduate to be precise. So books including mythology and history is my bread-and-butter. Consider me sold on any kind of novel like this. Then to make it over 30+ novel strong with a variety of amazing characters, spicy love stories, and a world so big I get to drown in it approx every 3 months ish, consider my soul sold to Amy Sumida. Godhunter is such a fab opener to a brilliant series perfect for anyone who needs monthly updates on their book-bf’s. Amy’s gotchu.

Action Packed!
The author takes gods from differing mythologies and mixes them up, along with a human Godhunter, in this interesting, and occasionally humorous, read. The female lead is unremarkable, but has potential and I would like to see her grow (and mature) as the series goes on.The supporting cast (The God Squad) are well written, hot and easy to fall-in-lust with. The book is full of action, alternating between fights and steamy scenes.I'm in two minds as to whether to continue with the series...I'd like to see if Vervain (and the books) reach their potential, but there are a lot of books in the series!
