This fits nicely under our patio table and holds our umbrella just fine. It is plenty heavy but so heavy you can't move it around when you need to. It holds 2 inch and 1 3/4 inch poles with a plastic adapter for the smaller size. It has a little hand screw clamp to keep your umbrella from spinning in the breeze. The only drawback is the finish is not so great and it will likely need a coat of paint in the future.Overall, this is worth the price and it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Hi....this is certainly heavy enough to support our market umbrella, but the cylinder which holds the umbrella pole must not be rust proof, as it has already rusted a bit. Also, the paint on the base is washing off. Not sure if I'll keep it or return it yet.UPDATE (1/1/2013) - So, as I originally noted in my review, some rust develop. However, since I initially wrote the review, no additional rust developed or paint washed off and the stand continues to work fine. I've upgraded my review from 2 to 4 stars.

I needed an umbrella stand to fit under our deck table. We've had problems with other stands because of the way the table is made. I carefully measured this time, including the height of the table over the umbrella pole stand. This one fit those measurements, so I bought it even though I would have preferred a different color. Unfortunately, it still didn't fit. They have the knob to screw in to hold the umbrella tighter too high and that doesn't fit with our table. This was easy to put together, seems heavy enough, but I still can't use it.

I think that for what it is it is a good product, a great price and decent quality. But buying this I realize that I needed a heavier base for the 9 foot spread umbrella I bought on QVC. That and I would prefer the base to have 2 knobs. These are my own learning curves and so that is what I need. This product is good quality and it is doing the job for now. Thank you :)

I bought this item to fit under my patio table which has just shy of 18" between it's legs. I needed an umbrella base with a diameter of less than 18" and thought this one would fit. The product is 19.5 inches in diameter, not 17.7 inches, and does not fit beneath my table. I have noticed measurement of other products that are not correct. Wish Amazon would pay more attention to detail. Otherwise, the base is very nice.

Maybe it's me. Perhaps I do not know how to assemble the base properly, but it tends to come loose in the wind and wobble. I have had two male friends try to anchor it better and the problem is mostly resolved, but the embrella leans in the stand noticably. I would love it had it been one piece.

This stand has been holding my 6 foot market umbrella just fine. But I would be more reassured in the breezes if the tube were just 2 inches taller to make the pole really secure. It looks good and was easy to assemble. Like someone else said, it does collect a little water in the stand portion because of the design pattern. However, it's not metal so no rusting.

It is not enough to hold the umbrella by itself in the wind. We ended up moving it to the middle of a table to help support it.
