Di Van Niekerk's Roses in Silk and Organza Ribbon

Good book with very clear directions.

This book is amazing! It is well written with great images and clear instructions. The flowers and all the items in the book are really easy to do and you'll have the same results as the images in the book. I would highly recommend this to all those hand craft enthusiast who don't mind sitting and sewing. This book worked great for my project and I wouldn't be able to accomplish much if I didn't have this book.

The best part of this magnificent book, is that it takes you step by step through the process to create the vivid roses. Many modern books assume that you already know how to do...MANY things. This book holds your hand to a fine finish.

I'm one of those people that have books and patterns of projects I plan to do, but probably will never do. I've read through this book several times...the instructions are easy and the pictures are many. There are quite a few projects the book offers. Lists of what type of ribbon and thread you'll need are also included. I think that these beautiful ribbon flowers are something that I can actually start (and finish) someday.

Have you ever looked at silk or paper flowers and wondered to yourself 'how did they do that'? If so, this is the book you need to have in your collection as it answers that question and many more. I make millinery flowers for civil war era hats and finally got tired of purchasing paper and silk florals from suppliers, and thought that I will just make them myself. Well, this book will certainly make that possible as it shows with great detail every aspect of creating the most fragile and beautiful flowers petals you can imagine. Now the best part of it all is that it is so very simple! With some time and very basic tools that you probably already have in your house, you can create silk or paper flowers that look as if they have survived the ravages of time in perfect condition! The ability to create vintage quality florals yourself will only serve to inspire you further - from a single flower to a full boquet - one will not be enough I guarantee it! If you only purchase one book this year, make it this one, you will not be disappointed.

Love the book. If you are a needle work enthusiast and like to learn new techniques you will enjoy Di Van Niekerk's books. I live in a remote area and can't take classes but I enjoy needlework especially during the winter months. With these books I was able to complete a previous project and look forward to this doing this one. I wish Di Van Niekerk's stitching supplies were readily available through Amazon. Although you can substitute supplies and complete these projects, her hand died ribbons are beautiful with subtle color variations.

I love this Roses in Silk and Organza book! The pictures are stunning and the illustrations are very easy to follow. I can't wait to start adding these beautiful flowers to many items that are just waiting for that final touch of beauty! I'm also starting to make several extras for my package decorating box for a beautiful keep sake from the package bow. Thank you!

Love the look of the book and pictures, I think I will enjoy working with this book it has very good instructions along with some step by step pictures.

Un libro altamente professionale, per professionisti del genere , non pensavo fosse cosi' di alto livello.....vedendo la foto della rosa in copertina , vorresti riproporla invece è difficilissimo solo con l'aiuto del libro da tradurre in italiano..... sono le tecniche di applicazioni di fiori di seta e di organza fatti a mano sulla stoffa, come le coperte , lenzuola ecc molto interessante, ma anche molto difficile!
