Do not listen to any other review
Most of the reviews I read on this product are buying the wrong tool for the job if you are looking for something to do what they are expecting buy a nice stiff and sturdy knife like a Kershaw for 20 bucks not a utility knife this is a precision cutting tool that relies on being extremely sharp I use this to cut light things with ease like plastic wrap some cardboard and paper honestly if you ask me this utility knife is actually over built for what it should be used for the only thing in the reviews I agree with is the redundant lock to lock the blade open it really isn't needed but it is nice to have because it will save you from injury if you use it wrong this thing is extremely sturdy and stiff the tolerances on mine are very very tight and the pocket clip is easy to slip onto a pocket and keep it there with out getting caught on things and the handle is essential g10 and gives alot of grip for your cut and the button to release the blade being a weak point it's possible but utility knives are not designed for heavy cutting or prying you are going to hurt your self that latch is only there to hold the blade in place kind of in place because the strong point of the utility knife is it's sharpness not it's strength knives are a balance of both reason why you can pry cut pound slice or even use a regular knife as a flat head screwdriver they are a multi purpose tool a utility knife is made for a single job slicing if you are looking for a utility knife with the ability to cut through light things this is the one for you and think before you buy

This little cutter is great
This little cutter is great. I have two of them to keep in different locations.Takes any standard utility blade from the hardware store. It's tiny for a razor knife, but sturdy, and big enough to keep a decent grip on it in use.The blade stays locked when you want it locked but can be replaced with the push of a button. The knife folds so the blade is completely covered. When deployed, the knife has a "double lock"; a liner lock with an extra safety lock activated by a small lever. This is small enough for a watch pocket (5th pocket of blue jeans), or can carry on a keychain, but it is big enough to cut up a basement full of corrugated cardboard without hand fatigue (yes I did).Functions well above its weight/size/cost.Just buy it.

95% satisfied. Some flaws but overall best EDC knife on the market - better than the Gerber EAB.
UPDATE 17.11.2021. Not often I give 4 to 5 stars and admit having an high satisfaction level. On this product from Coast yes. I got some Torx screwdrivers and disassembled the blade part to see how it was constructed underneath. It takes the T7 to take the 2 blade screws apart. The blade consists of 3 parts: a front cover, an back cover where the crews wind in the threads and the middle part where the blade attaching mechanism is. The blade retaining mechanism is the same as how the liner lock works on the knife itself. It is an stainless steel part whose nose sits exactly in the groove of the blade. This mechanis is bent back by the little tiny knob of plastic and the blade slides on and off if the knob is depressed. The whole mechanism is stainless steel and really sturdy for it's purpose although the arm of this blade liner starts fairly thin. Only the plastic little knob for releasing the blade mechanism is plastic but thats fully Ok. I rested 5% of satisfaction because I realised the screws are magnetic and thus not real brass. The screws and washers are most likely stainless steel washed in brass. Thats how they appear as from brass but are not. Despite of the thin part of the holding arm of the blade retaining mechanism, it will not break off any time soon for the work it has to do. It is an incredible simple design and that makes it robust and fail proof. Till now I did not experience any slack in the liner lock mechanism although I allways hold the liner while fully opening and closing with my hand towards the frame in order it doesnt chew and eat away the edge of the blade sviwel - if that happens the liner lock mechanism will get slack and thats annoying.Since it could have been, however, with an stronger arm on the internal locking mechanism of the blade, it stays 4.5 stars for this item. At least the internal blad retention mechanism is all stainless steel (with the narrow arm as a weak point) but this is surprising sturdy as long as the arm is not bent out of place (which never will really occur in real life). Awesome design. This is the best pocket knife today on the market. Buy this instead of any other knife. I still have the original blade in it and own now 3 of these. This serves as an replacement Swiss Army knife and is ecological with it's disposable changeable blades. One can sharpen however the blades if needed giving them an even longer life. So the whole knife doesnt need to be thrown away if the blade is worn down. This is the way to go. Best EDC knife ever.MAIN REVIEWThis is the best EDC knife on the market today. It is better than the Gerber EAB of which I own 2.However there are some weak points of this Coast DX126 design. Thats why it lost 1 star and reduced satisfaction.1. The button to change the blade is not stainless steel or metal but rather nylon (plastic). Thats an weak point since it is most likely the first thing to break on this model. Coast should have made it from Stainless steel.2. The button to release the blade is not recessed. So in a knife fight, the button could get hit and the blade can slide off and be lost. Thats a problem since this knife can be used in a pinch as fighting knife for self defense. It is an contender for the Karambit defensive knife due to its sharp exchangeable razor blade. Where it slices there will be a big slice. The blade change button should be recessed.3. The interior assembly and mechanism of the changing blade button mechanism seems to me a bit flimsy. That part could break with time within and then the knife is useless. At least the metal bars inside as far as I can see are not the made of the thickest metal.4. The liner lock in general is a big flaw. The liner lock will develop some slack over time and rattle up and down due to wear. That happened with my Gerber EAB as the liner lock edge wore down from opening and closing within about 3 years of use. It was my EDC knife and I used it about once a week. So the edge of the liner lock metal which is in contact with the knifes back gets worn out in an angle and that generates a gap between the two parts. That makes the slack of the knife part so the knife developes much play. My Gerber developed about 1 to 2 mm of play and thats annoying so I gave it away. The locking mechanism must be adjustable in order to adjust tighter any worn parts. Like an set screw on the back on an sliding metal part were the knife head rests on the frame which pushes the metal back of the knife foreward if the lines lock wears down. Or any other adjustable solution to adjust the liner lock system.5. The back part has little metal part for the passing through brass rod to hold the knife apart. Those holes have little metal around which can break through and crack if torque is applied on the back handles toward the inside. Thats a weak point but tolerable since at least the frame goes all the way to the back at least supporting the brass rod on the back.6. The double locking safety switch is kind of flimsy and could break off if force is applied toward the inside. Other than that it is at least metal (stainless, I believe) and does it's job.Thats all of the flaws and weak points. The positive is basically everything else. All screws and studs/rods are supported by the metal frame and run through it although with some lesser metal support (see above point 5). The screws and studs are all brass as it seems. Thats very nice of an touch. The frame runs inside nestled into the nylon handles all the way to the back giving the knife a great support. So it has underneath the nylon handles a full size stainless steel frame which runs all the way from front to back of the knife (its not only plastic as handle). Nevertheless it has a bit more movement if torque is applied on the back of the handles toward the inside as does the Gerber EAB have - the Gerber EAB is in this sense a bit sturdier.A big positive and more safe is the knife blade head which has an channel were the razor blade (Utility blade) runs in. The Gerber EAB does only have an channel on the upper and lower part but not on the back part where the blade stops, sits and rests in. Thus Coast DX126 has an channel all the way down on the upper, lower and back inner part in order the blade can not possibly slip out or break away. Thats a huge safety improvement and awesome detail attention and engineering quality. The double safety lever pushes an lever beside the liner lock so the liner can not slip off the knifes head back if force is applied. That can help make it safer but the whole double safety is of thinner metal stainless steel as it seems to me so it could break eventually. The clip is fine and sturdy. Its a long clip and holds up well. The clip is not reversable and not spring steel so if you force it past a point it will break. This seems to be the same clip material used on the Coast HP1 flashlight which of whom I have had already one clip broken off. To me these clips are a Zink alloy rather than spring steel. The handles are from nylon and feel very good with it's honey comb texturing. The texture is not aggressive but way better than the grip of the Gerber EAB. This handle wins hands down over the Gerber EAB handling and handle. The washers of the knifes head pivot are from brass as well. Awesome. No plastic washers like the Gerber EAB does have. Thats a big plus. The screws are all Torx screws.Do I recommend this Coast DX126 over any competition specially over the Gerber EAB? Absolutely. This knife is the way to go. Buy with confidence.Coast has only to fix some of the flaws and the knife is the most perfect knife on planet earth - and the most usefull.Buy this knife so you dont need any sharpening anymore. This DX126 is the best replacement for any swiss army knife or any sort of pocket knife. Heck, even it replaces a Karambit in a pinch if you get attacked on the streets and you have nothing else to defend you as this Coast DX126 knife. It will do the job and you could easily slice up an entire pig with one long stroke. So this doubles as well as an defensive combat knife. There should be an disciplin invented to fight with these Coast DX126 utility knifes - they would be allmost as effective as an Karambit combat knife even with an dull blade. The blade is an standard utility blade (with the 2 notches on the top part) as sold on amazon.Awesome knife Coast. Thus kind of knife I suggested to Coast a few years ago when the only option was the Gerber EAB (which has defects and is not perfect). Finally they came up with this design - which is allmost perfect.Congratulations for this design Coast.
