Excellent knife for field dressing and skinning but use caution and have other tools ready.
After seeing guys like Steve Rinella to other famous hunters use it, I got it for myself. This is essentially a scalpel. Very sharp and easily for surgical precision.Field dressing a deer: very sharp and I found myself at first overly careful (rightly so) of holding and using the knife. It cut effortlessly through the first layer of hide/skin/fur. Because it was so sharp, I was able to easily control how deep into the fur vs fat layer vs muscle groups. It easily dislodged the rectal area as well as the diaphragm. Also it cut out the esophagus without much effort. I DID NOT use it to cut through the rib-cage. I instead used a heavier, sharp hunting knife, as I was worried the thin Havalon would break trying to cut through bony areas. One of the things that a real surgeon, who was on the hunt with me advised me was not to use the point so much, but rather use the long, flat edge of the blade. Let the blade do the work, not the tip point. Also used the same blade the next day to skin and butcher much of the deer. Very easy to use when skinning the deer. Useful for cutting through layers of fat and tendon. I used a boning knife to debone.I tossed it in the dish washer when done, and it was clean and like new. This should not be your only hunting knife. But it is certainly going to be the sharpest knife in your bag.

Love this knife.
I have used this knife for a couple months now. Wasn't sure about the replaceable blade thing , but I gave it a try. This knife is sturdy and sharp as hell. Has done everything I have asked of it. I bought 2 packs of replacement blades because I was not sure how long they would last. i will have blades for the rest of my life , lol. The blades last a long time and I use this knife a lot . On the farm, in a store I own opening boxes, just life in general and it doesn't disappoint . I will definitely put a new blade for deer season but know this will make short work of field dressing and skinning, except bones of course. Well worth the money.

Perfect!
I really like this knife. I have used it for skinning and gutting goats, lambs, pigs, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. The best thing about it? It is always sharp. Very sharp! I've cut myself more then a few times because I wasn't careful, but that is my fault, not the knife's. Great for cutting throats on poultry, very easy to hit the mark. This works wonders for skinning animals. I can get a large goat skinned in 20 minutes with a new blade. It's lightweight and has a nice feel to it, easy to maneuver. It is quick and easy to change the blade. Do use pliers when changing the blade though! I wouldn't change a thing about nor even consider using another knife.

Excellent for field dressing only
This knife is excellent for cutting and only straight lines. I field dressed my first deer with one blade beautifully. If you have any medical training and handle scalpes then stop reading and purchase this; you will understand how to use this tool. This is not a replacement for you Buck, Old Timer or Leathemen you keep on you everyday. You will be amazed at how often you realize this knife is not an all around knife you are use to. It only makes straight, clean cuts.Ask yourself: will i be field dressing an animal? Yes-buy this knife now.Would i use a box cutter in this situation? Yes-you could use this knife but you need a box cutter.Summation: if you are field dressing an animal buy this knife. Otherwise you will resort to your previous pocket knife and this will sit with your hunting gear.Plus, it looks really wimpy compared to the knife your great grandpa handed down to you from WW2 that would do the same thing but traiding the nostalgic war story conversation with your buddies for your impromptu defense of using this new tiny blade

Great Knife, Bad Vendor (Vayue).
Product:Fantastic knife for light cutting. I've one of these knives for the past two hunting seasons. Made cleaning and harvesting my animals a very easy chore.Sold By - Vayue:Unfortunately I end up losing them at the end of the season and purchased a replacement for last year. I just received the most recent one and the seller seems to have sent me a returned product. It wasn't in the original package nor did it have the spare blades as advertised. Also, the blade was used and dirty with the handle being packed with dried blood, fur and other biological matter. Looks like whomever used it before me barely rinsed it off before sending it back. Needless to say, I'm sending this one back and will purchase it elsewhere. I'm oddly angered about the fact that I received a used product that could potentially be hazardous in a different level. I have no way of knowing what kind of blood, hair and meat is in the knife. It could be human for all i know. This would look horrible for the seller and Amazon if its evidence in a crime and they've shipped it to me.

Great knife but not all you need for the task
I give it 4.5 stars! I have used this on a big cow elk this last season and the knife performed very well. Its a great skinning knife, very sharp and blades replace easily even with small pieces of flesh on the knife. I went through 3 blades for a full elk only because one blade broke (my fault) and one got pretty dull through the process. Overall its a perfect knife for skinning and delicate work. HOWEVER, a couple things to keep in mind....1) Its always best to have a couple other heavy knives in case you need to pry or cut through joints, etc. I couldn't use this knife to cut through the spine for the carcass and the saw I had didn't work as well. We needed a heavy blade to pound into the spine and push down to cut through the bone. 2) You really need a multitool to change the blades on the knife safely. 3) the blades break pretty easily. I was skinning around a leg of my elk and the blade broke when cutting under the skin. A small amount of torque on the blade and it broke. BUT, this is easily the best skinning knife around though but make sure you have your saw and extra heavier knives for other tasks. I love this knife and will not go hunting without it.
