I had the darnest time trying to use a pair of heavy aluminum or steel needles with some slippery, silky yarn. I knew I needed something lighter and with a bit more grip, but have been rather underwhelmed with wooden needles. However, I trust the ChiaoGoo brand, having slowly spent many tends of dollars on acquiring circular needles for shawl projects, so I took a chance on these. I am so glad I did! These needles are perfectly sized, just the right weight, and have exactly the balance of slip and grip needed to work quickly with silky yarns. Although I have worked over 800 yards of yarn with these needles, there is no discernible wear at the tips or elsewhere. I’ve also accidentally sat on them at least three times and they are not broken. I am very pleased! My experience with these needles supports the rosy glow around the ChiaoGoo brand in my mind.

I started knitting years ago but didn’t stick to it. I am starting up again and these have been good for me. I have aluminum needles as well and I like both styles. I can go more quickly with the aluminum, but these bamboo have more drag so they don’t slip off as easily which is good for beginners. I did get a pair of chiaogoo 13” needles that were a little warped so they are not all great.
