Simply to use and you have to follow the instructions to get the best reading
Just started keto and didn't want a ketone blood test monitor. I just need to know if I'm in ketosis. Now there are 3 types of ketones, you can test for. They are in your blood, urine and breath. All three are measured differently so trying to compare this meter with a blood one won't work and forget the urine test strips. Pretty simple to use. It takes 2 aa batteries. Comes with washable tips and it's just 3 steps, turn on, blow in it when it tells you for 10 seconds and it counts down for you. Lastly you get your results. The display has 2 colors green to let you know your number is in the range for ketosis and red if you are not. Important to note you have to do this in a fasted state. The instructions recommended in the morning but an hour after you wake up. I really can't tell you how acute this is since you can't really compare it to other meter methods. I do know I'm in ketosis and it did confirm that. For the price it's not bad, it's in the price range of a blood keto meter but no expensive test strips to buy each month. You can use it anywhere since no blood is needed and best of all no pricking yourself. I only used it a few times and the numbers are very close each time. Time will tell if it last but if I can get a few months to a year out of it, then it has paid for itself compared to buying test strips.

A Beautiful Ketone Meter
The ketone meter has a nice durable box. The meter has a practical design with retractable mouthpiece, it fits comfortably into hand. Replaceable mouthpiece inserts could be reused and disinfected, if needed. My hobby is electronics and I already experimented with Arduino and gas sensors for different gases (but not ketone vapors). I would appreciate more technical information on how the ketone meter works - if not in the manual then on the website. To satisfy my curiosity I opened the device and took pictures of both sides of the electronics. The sensor has 3 pins, obviously two for the inside heating element (the reason you have to wait 20 seconds so the sensor reaches inside temperature a few hundred degrees Celsius), and the middle for analog output.I don't expect the used method could give high precision results but for orientation in what stage it is my metabolism it should be sufficient.Deep breathing before testing will ventilate lungs and lower ketone concentration so repeated testing will not give the same result. Also, the sensor needs some time to recover its sensitivity after measurement.Personally, if I reach ketosis, I feel a different taste in my mouth.According to instructions the user might interpret the red LED light as the meter failure while it is just 0.00 ketone concentrations or no ketones were detected. You should be aware that to reach ketosis it takes a long time; at the beginning not just hours but days.If you are repeatedly getting the red LED light, and in doubt if the ketone meter is really working, then drink a spoon of alcohol. You should get some positive reading - giving you peace of mind your device is functional. Obviously you should avoid drinking alcohol or use mouthwash before testing because you get false positive readings.I like the ketone meter and would recommend it.

Frustrating!
So this device didn't last even a day despite my initial excitement to finally have an easy, highly convenient way to test for ketones. And what ever happened to including (two) batteries as a convenience to a paying customer so that that customer didn't have to wait overnight after all that excitement, run to a store, only to find the device not register ketosis even once DESPITE eating high fat meals? Even the old and very inconvenient keto strips did a better job. And then the quick start guide. Despite being only two pages front to back starting with an introduction by the "founder" "Jonathon P" (spelling? and what kind of founder hides his last name?), I found it frustrating and amusing at times due to poor grammar and conflicting/confusing instructions. Instructions like "for the most accurate results don't consume food..." huh?! and a red light indicates "unsuccessful keto reading" meaning what? Bad test or no Ketosis? I chose this device over others because of it's newer release date. I do hope another product works as designed so that this way of checking is validated rather than this whole exercise turning out to simply be wishful thinking.

Very inaccurate!
Unfortunately, this device is not very accurate. My first five readings (over the first 2 days) all read exactly 0.27, despite getting entirely varied and very different readings, both with urine AND blood test strips (urine and blood tests were in agreement with each other, but this device showed numbers that were WAY off). It only *occasionally* seems sort of near the other test results, so a waste for me.

I didn’t realize I was almost doing keto
Then I realized if all I did was cut out the sugar, all the foods I was already eating were keto friendly. However, I never really knew if I was burning ketones until I bought the meter. I like that it’s not a subscription or a pee strip which is hard to interpret. With the meter, I check periodically throughout the day and evening and I now know when I’m starting to burn ketones, burning at a higher rate or stopped burning. Knowing this helps incentivize my power and will to continue. It’s great feedback from such a simple tool!!

It actually works.
I bought it to help me learn when I am in ketosis in my intermittent fasting journey. It takes about 16 hours between the meals to start. I was hoping for 8-10 hours, but I cannot blame this little gadget for that. It's very helpful to learn how different food/meals affect metabolism. It's fun to use. Recommending it!
