Fodor's San Diego: with North County (Full-color Travel Guide)

I ordered several books about San Diego and looked through other guides and this was by far the most helpful! It was written by local San Diego writers who know all the insider tips for seeing and doing things in San Diego. Other guidebooks can be kind of shallow and vague, while this was more in-depth and up-to-date too! I appreciate that it was organized by neighborhoods/areas in San Diego, because that's the best way to explore San Diego. We organized every day of our week-long trip using this guide. I took it with me in the car or to breakfast and would read about the next place we were going to each day. Our trip was much better from using this book!

Can’t go wrong with Fodors. Let’s you plan your fun in advance. We leave in about 2 weeks and their info really helped with where to stay and what to see while there.

We questioned the need to buy a guide for our 5 day trip, but I found a lot of good advice in this one source. I enjoy buying a good guide book for each family vacation because we can put it on the bookshelf to help remember later on. Fodors, Lonely Planet, Rough Guides and others pretty consistently do a good job, if you can get a recent version like this one.

Using the book for Christmas trip !!

Great read to learn lots about San Diego and the surrounding areas before my family trip. The only CON is that the font is tiny throughout the entire book. Made it a challenge for me to read for someone whose eyesight is not the greatess.

This is a great introduction to the San Diego area, outlining sights to see, places to eat and beaches to visit. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because some of the information (mostly prices & hours) was wrong even thought this is the current year’s edition. Overall, recommended.

Bought for my older mom while traveling. She put it to good use.
