Like the other reviews warned, the bag did come with some loose threads; otherwise, the bag is in fine condition. The shoe compartment has a hard cardboard-lined bottom, with buttons on both sides to lock the compartment away when not in use.The back has a large slot for a suitcase handle to go through as intended, and the front has a pocket, as wide as the logo from handle to handle. Inside, there is an entire mesh lined side that doubles as a zippered large pocket or compartment. On the other side, there is a small detachable zipper bag that hangs freely. Overall, there are many useful compartments to organize your things inside and out. In addition, there are 2 extra buttons that do not attach to anything on both sides of the bag.I'm pretty sure those are just for design and serve no purpose like the buttons on the bottom. As for the durability, I will see if it holds up in a month or so's time.Edit: It's been more than a month and the bag is surprisingly still holding up! I've tossed my 5~ lb laptop in it; heck, I even tossed in TWO laptops in it, but it still held up (though it was a little hard to zip). The loose threads don't seem to be as bad as I thought. My only complaint is that the inside mesh zipper does not seem to have a beginning/end point, and therefore zips either way...making it difficult to use on the first try.

I have mixed feelings about this tote. It is a bit smaller than I was hoping for but it is extremely well made. It's being well made is a bit of a problem in one way...it is constructed of very heavy canvas and it's, well, a heavy bag when considering others on the market. Modest squishable shoes like Keds or simple flats or loafer style shoes fit well in the lower compartment but it won't work out for larger shoes typically used for exercise and running. I decided that it would not work as a gym/swim bag for me. It has made a great weekend bag;>) It wasn't the intended use but I really liked the bag and didn't want to return it. It had no odd smells and came well packaged and protected from the manufacturer. Amazon boxed it with some other items and all arrived in wonderful condition.

I initially loved this bag when it came in. Great space, easy to swing over my shoulder, and i loved the different compartments. After about a month of use (3 days a week) all of the zippers are either broken or breaking. Which isn't horrific for the price - but still would have expected it to last a little longer.

Just received my bag but it's missing the detachable compartment. That's one of the reasons why I purchased this bag. How does that happen? Very disappointed! Trying to make up my mind if I want to send this back or not.

I received the bag today, and am happy with the quality. Heavy canvas with durable shoulder straps. The bottom shoe compartment is large enough to house both my running shoes and a pair of flip flops. The inner compartment has a mesh zippered area, and a removable pouch that is attached with straps. The interior areas are all lined with nylon. Well worth the price.

I am very pleased with this bag! It has a surprisingly large amount of space for a bag that is not huge. I also love the compartment for my shoes. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a gym bag/beach bag.

Fell apart after a month. It still kind of works.

Horrible. Used once and the zipper in the bottom, where shoes are supposed to go, broke after one use. Brought it to a bag repair shop, and they couldn't even fix it for me, cause the zipper is so cheap. It would cost more to get it fixed, than the amount I paid for it. Can't return, since it's been over 30 days. What a waste of money. So disappointed!
