Rex

After a few clunkers Simon James has "come back from the dead" with this one. It is his best effort since Baby Brains and very much worth adding to your read aloud collection.

In REX, Tyrannosaurus Rex is the most terrifying dinosaur around. He spends his time going around scaring other dinosaurs. One night while he is sleeping in his cave, an abandoned egg cracks open. A tiny dinosaur crawls out and decides that Tyrannosaurus Rex is his father. When Tyrannosaurus Rex says what kind of dinosaur he is, the little dinosaur can only say the name "Rex" and from that point on it is his name and the little tyke follows the big brute all around. Thus begins a tale of an unlikely adoption. I enjoyed REX. It's a story about families and how love can change even the most unlikely of characters.

Good graphics and lovely story

We had taken this book out at the library and my daughter enjoyed it so much I bought her her own copy. A lovely book about two strangers building a father/child relationship.
