Its a weak combo lock....know what that means
It does what it does but realize these offer 0 protection from people who actually want access to your stuff. You can just hit the lock open or use a thin shim between the wheels to unlock it....or take 5 mins to find the combo. It is just meant to keep the 60 second opportunist out when you are not looking. If you don't understand what a good lock is make sure you google. That is why the internet exists not. Educate yourself. No combo lock is secure. They are 100% trash so just understand what they are meant for.locks are only decent starting at the American D5200 series and those still take 30 seconds for someone who knows what they are doing to pick but keeps the novice at bay.

OK lock, good if you don't need to open something often.
The VT-01 lock has a nice heft to it and is appropriately sized to lock up bags with smaller zipper pull holes. I also had no issues changing the combo on it. However, my big complaint about the lock is the tolerances of the combination dials because the dials need to be aligned just right to open the lock. Aligning the correct combo along the engraved line does not necessarily open the lock, but a number needs to be skewed by a nudge to allow the lock to open.

Probably good for luggage
Probably good for luggage; not much else. I've tried to use it on a couple of lockers and it's been too small every time: Either the lock is too narrow to actually prevent somebody opening the locker, or the lock is too small to get on the lockerThis is made worse by the fact that rotating the lock hook 180 degrees is how you reprogram it: If you turn it 180 degrees to put it on a locker, there's a good chance you'll accidentally change the combinationBuy something else if want to secure a locker.

Too easy to figure out the combination by pulling on the ...
Not very secure. Too easy to figure out the combination by pulling on the shackle while turning the gears. When you feel resistance, you found the right number. Did this when I accidentally set the combination to something without looking. Takes under a minute to unlock this way. It is nice and small though.

Ok for low security needs
It's an ok lock when not much security is needed. Dialing in the correct combination can be a bit finicky.

The original packaging was already open and the product was used
The original packaging was already open and the product was used. This was an intentional cut across the bottom face of the blister packing. I reached in the envelope and pulled out and empty package. I then located the lock in the bottom of the envelope. After trying the default code to open the lock, I determined it had already been manipulated and the default code no longer works. The lock was worthless and will be returned

Crudely made
The dials are very difficult to line up correctly to open the lock; takes an inordinate amount of time to unlock my bike (used with a cable in safe locations for short periods). It looks right but the lock won't open; I try slightly different positions and eventually it opens but who knows why. The dials do not turn smoothly either. A mistake, should have bought another brand.

FYI, these are really small
These are really small. I mean really tiny. If that's what you are looking for than buy it. If you are looking for a small lock for luggage than look some place else
