Basic information in just one place
Kitaro Takagi is the author of Bonsai: The Compete Step-by-Step Guide on How to Cultivate and Care for Beginners and he wrote a comprehensive and easy-to-follow book for people who just got their bonsai and are a bit lost. I definitely was and was constantly online trying to find the best option for me. Unfortunately, online is a massive world where opinions diverge and I felt unsure. Of course, this is nothing groundbreaking but the writing style is easy and all the information a beginner needs is in just one place.

I liked the book overall, but I do with it went in to a little more detail. Still, a good guide for beginners for sure.

A competent beginner's guide for caring for Bonsai trees
I bought a Bonsai tree for my mom for her birthday and wanted to get her something to help her get started. This is a well-made beginner's guide for caring for Bonsai trees, but it IS a beginner's guide. I do wish it went into more depth and was maybe more comprehensive, but there was enough here to get my mom started. It's well-illustrated and a good place to start, but you might need to supplement the text with other ones.
