Phoneshield PS-IP5 All Weather Case and Mount for iPhone 5

Seems well made and sturdy. Mounted easily on the handlebar of my HD Softtail Heritage. Included bracket sizes for many diameters. I have a windshield which will block most of the water and have not driven in any rain, but it looks to be very watertight, impressively so. There is a rubber plug that looks to block water, when I opened it and inserted my charging cable it fit easily, there is an included grommet that slipped snugly over the cable, and from the inside, blocked the space around the cable. It also prevents the cable from being pulled out. It stretches easily to go around the plug, when you want to remove it. to remove the phone, you need to unsnap 2 clips, then pry the phone out. there is an red rubber gasket that looks to make a tight seal.The case snaps on the mount, then a thumb screw holds it from popping off. I read a lot of review before making this purchase, there are cheaper ones out there, but I found reviews of them falling off. It appears very unlikely that this one wound break or come loose. even in the event that it did, because of the grommet, the USB cable that is zip tied the the handle bar would keep it from falling, and I could save it. But like I said, it appears very solid, so it is doubtful it would break or come loose. When I remove my phone, the inner part comes out and becomes a thin case that I can keep on and use a case.I used it to navigate on a recent trip and it met all my expectations. I used Google map app which came in handy to select the route based on current traffic, and gave me constant updates to my expected arrival time.The only drawback I can think of is that it is ordered phone specific, so will only work with that specific phone. Soon I hope to update to the new iPhone 6, and will have to buy a new one.

the opening for the charginge cable is to small for the cable to fit. very poor design. I need to charge the phone when it's navigating as it eats up the battery very quickly. Bad, bad, bad...

Returned product. Chincy and did not work with Ram mounting system.

This is an excellent system. Really well sealed and sturdy. Clips shut crisply and tightly. Has held up flawlessly for 1000 mile days in the wet. It does only fit Apple charge cables and headphone jacks, or anything of the same size. You can't cram a cheap oversize copy cable in. But that is why it seals well..because it is precision made. Cannot believe someone gave it a 1 for that.
