Professional European Cherry Mountain Dulcimer w/Case

This is my first Dulcimer, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I do know it is so hard to stop playing it...I think I'm addicted! It is very nicely built and finished, I couldn't be happier with it. If I had to say something negative, I would say the tuner knobs seem to be gold colored plastic, I would have preferred metal ones and the strings are junk, like any stringed instrument they should be replaced right away. I used Martin dulcimer strings and the difference was incredible! The case it comes in is sturdy, though it is soft like a gig bag it seems to have some kind of frame in it. Great product. Unbelievable service, received it in two days!Plays easy, has great volume because of the two melody strings.Compared to my custom built it performs equally as well.I highly recommend this if you are just learning to play the dulcimer.It is far superior to cheaper entry level instruments.You will not be dis-appointed.

This is my first dulcimer. It is fine for a beginner, however it doesn't have a place to attach a strap which is a downside. Also the strings are a little bit high off the frets which makes it harder to play. If I stay with it, I will probably invest in a really good custom made dulcimer.

It’s exactly what I wanted

I found the action a little high, however the instrument was built well. Also the fret markers were high, I found it difficult to walk the neck without my calisss catching on the fret board. I do play a lot out in the world and this instrument was not what I expected. But that’s just me, if I was a beginner it would be a great instrument .

I am a new player and played several before choosing this all cherry model. The cheaper ones sounded kind of tinny compared to the more full bodied sound of this one. There was a McSpadden in the shop and while this is no McSpadden it has a nice sound similar to the MsSpadden I played at a much higher price. I am very happy with this dulcimer and feel I made a good choice.

I purchased this same dulcimer from a center that sells guitars and I really think this is a great dulcimer which includes a case no matter where you buy it. This dulcimer doesn't include strap buttons so I added them which was fairly easy. The only problem I had was that the dulcimer with strap buttons wouldn't fit into the case so I had to cut out a portion of the case with a utility knife and now it fit fine.
