I purchased 3 sets, 2 as gifts. Note, that I bought them all at the same time....because every time I buy a Kilner jar it's just as it says on the listing and is of a high, sturdy quality. So I didn't buy one set to check it first, and I am glad to give high quality as a great gift. Can't wait to start the sourdough in it's dedcated jar - such a great idea to have a lid that also measures and a dedicated just the right size spatula, which will remain uncontaminated by other smells. A good instruction insert too, very useful for the gift sets, for people who are just starting out on this awesome healthy bread making adventure.

Brilliant set for starting out on a sourdough journey. I gave this as a gift to a friend who was hoping to grow a stunning starter, and a few weeks later I've just eaten some of the produce. Easy to use, easy to clean, and nice to have a set of jars fit for purpose. Friend loves them, and I love bread.

This isn't a essential item for baking but after using it a few times I would certainly recommend it. It's easy to use and holds a good amount so you don't have to keep refilling it. It's good sturdy glass and looks good. I may get another for different types of flour. It's quite expensive but should last for years.

Perfect for starter. The spatula is excellent and the elastic bands are all you need to monitor growth. The instructions on how to make your own starter from scratch were easy to follow and my starter has been thriving for almost a year now.

Good quality like all Kilner but only suitable for beginning a starter from scratch and then later they are too small for continuouse use. It may have been more useful if one of the jars was twice the size.
