Great ice balls!
This is a clever device for making large ice balls. The device is pretty easy to use. I've made 50+ batches and the device works pretty consistently.A couple of notes:* The silicone top might not seal completely and leak water through a crack. It usually doesn't, but I've found that it's best to put the ice tray on a mini baking sheet in the freezer to catch any water that might leak out. When it does leak, I get one ice ball that might be only 3/4 complete.* It takes a full 24 hours to make a batch of ice. These ice balls are thick and take some time to freeze all the way through.* The ice can crack in water, which ruins some of the fun, but they often don't break apart, even if there is some cracking.* Removal can be a little tricky. I find it is best to let it sit for a couple minutes, break all the ice of the top out of the little funnels (if any), then use my thumb to push the ice out of the silicone while pulling back on the edge of the silicone. I do this on top of the tray so that when the ice falls, it lands in the plastic tray and doesn't roll away.

It makes ice balls!
I enjoy this ice ball maker. I have a ice maker in my fridge but the giant ice balls are really cool, heh heh. But yes, it does a good job at making a sphere. It isn't perfect, or maybe I should try a different water. But for the most part it is a sphere. Clarity is also controlled by the type of water, I just use normal water and that's fine with me.The biggest problem I have with it is how it can be a bit difficult to get the ball out of the rubber portion. Rubber is very grippy and it doesn't want to let go of the ice so you really have to strangle it a bit to get it out lol. You end up feeling like an animal tearing the ice out of it lol.

Love it
Product works well, and makes fairly well rounded, very large ice balls. Only trick is to make sure you seal the two sides together very well before filling.

I think there are pretty good
I've made a few batches of these ice spheres. So far, I think the tray is pretty easy to use, and the ice spheres certainly last a LOT longer than the regular cubes my Samsung refrigerator ice maker puts out.The tray snaps together, and has a few interlocking nubs that snap together to hold it securely. I find the tiny funnels atop each globe make filling the tray a cinch. There is some spill over from filling the funnels, but I've not experienced any leakage between the upper and lower sections. There is a small hole at the top of each globe to let displaced air out as water fills the space. The material makes it very easy to remove the finished ice sphere from the tray, as they don't seem to stick much at all. Some gentle coaxing and flexing, and they pop out easily and intact. The globes are not crystal clear. They are mostly a cloudy white, which I think is a function of most home freezers, which allow trapped air and dissolved minerals in tap water to cloud the ice as it freezes. I've read that putting the tray into an insulated box so that the water freezes in one direction (from the top to bottom) will result in more clarity in the finished product.I tried using some Styrofoam around the lower 2/3 of the tray, but honestly, I didn't see any discernible difference.

Ok, but they spill
They're cool, but spill when filling up and when you put them in the freezer. I'd opt for large cube ones next time.

Work great
They work well. They are easy to fill, and easy to remove the ice ball. They will overflow slightly as they freeze and expand, but you just snap off the little extra ice cone in the funnel before removing the ball. They don't freeze clear, I think you need an insulated mold so that they freeze from the top down to get clear ice. I ordered a second one for the cottage, it works that well.
