The Coronation Ball: A Four Kingdoms Cinderella Novelette (The Four Kingdoms)

It was ok. Not the best in the series.
This book was just ok. I actually wish it had been longer. This book could have honestly been spread out to a full novel starting with a prologue of how Hanna ended up leaving the castle in Rangmere and how she got her apprenticeship and met Stefan and then lead to Hanna years after moving and getting her new apprenticeship and her and Stefan’s relationship building and her and Brianna’s feud. I think it would have been much better then. Instead it was crammed into a really short novelette to just tell what happened to Hanna. While I did enjoy the concept of the story and loved getting to know what happened to Hanna, I still really would have loved there being more to this story.

Cure Cinderella retelling
This is a SUPER cute Cinderella retelling!!! It was short, but the writing was as good as all of Melanie Cellier's work (I'm a huge fan) and the length was perfect for this character's story!Warning: I doubt I would have liked this nearly as much if I hadn't already read the book before it, as Hannah's character is featured there and we start knowing more about her if we have read that already. I highly recommend reading "The Princess Fugitive" first. But, if you have read that and liked it, you will LOVE this amazing novelette!!!Thanks Melanie Cellier for this great book and for giving us fans Hannah's story!!!

Cute, Clean Cinderella Retelling
Cute Cinderella story! This story was enjoyable. Short read, but so great. Great characters. Couldn't put it down. My only disappointment was that I wanted a reunion scene between Hanna, Hans, and Ava. I got excited at the idea but was sad there wasn't one. I was hoping the reunion would be apart of the resolution of the story. Melanie Dickerson has become one of my favorite authors. I buy every book she releases. Melanie never pushes it, she always writes clean stories. Thank you!

A sweet, short retelling of Cinderella.
I loved this retelling of Cinderella. This is a stand alone novella, but it's tied to the author's other books, so reading them will help in your complete understanding of the storyline. Hannah is an apprentice pastry chef in a foreign land. The other apprentices take advantage of her good heart and like all their workload on her. Her only friend is Stephan, who she assumes is a footman. In reality, he's an Earl, and the upcoming ball is designed for him to choose his bride.

Short and Sweet
I read this novella a few years ago in a fairytale anthology. It was just as good the second time! It’s a Cinderella retelling set around a pastry chef apprentice named Hanna who is bullied at every turn. Her saving grace is her best friend Steven, but he says things are going to have to change after the ball. Can she fight for her own future and happily ever after?

Short, Sweet, and Fun
Melanie does it again! What a fun and light retelling of Cinderella! I'd read, this story previously when it was part of the Once Upon a Happy Ending anthology, and I greatly enjoyed reading this expanded version.

Amazing once again!
Loved how sweet it was. Despite being retellings, Cellier's books aren't predictable. Hanna was an amazing protagonist. I loved her struggle between submissive patience and standing up for herself.

A “Sweet” retelling
I loved this wonderful retelling of the Classic fairytale cinderella. The only thing that would have made it better is a longer more detailed story. You can easily see how this Novela could be upgraded into a full novel. Still is a darling quick read.

Wonderful version of a well known tale
Returning to the four kingdoms felt like coming home, but this endearing and heartwarming story made coming home feel even nicer. Even though it's relatively short it was easy to bond with the characters and while the plot of course follows the well known elements of the Cinderella story, there were also quite a few original twists and additions. Eventually the story even made me choke up a little. It was just that beautiful.
