You don't put this on watercolors.

Is there mixed media fixative that'll protect both watercolor and pastel images?

Not sure about watercolors, but this came highly recommended by pastel artist Marla Baggatta.

Is this a workable fixative for layers?

I need a uv protectant mat spray for mycanvas photos. is this product appropriate?

There is a Krylon that is UV protected but the regular one is a retouch varnish and not a permanent UV varnish. I have only purchased the retouch on line. Also some of the other brands that do offer UV protection require that the painting be dried for several months before applying the varnish. Be sure to read the fine print. Some of the other low odor products work well but still have more odor than Krylon.
