I'm 73 and loved it
For a long time I have known that I was ignorant about anything but the broad strokes of WWII history. After seeing the film "Oppenheimer" recently, I was motivated to learn more. For example, I always wondered why we were at war with both Germany and Japan at the same time... was it just a coincidence that Japan became rowdy at the same time that Germany did? This book is just what I wanted! A clear overview of the conditions worldwide that lead to the war and a summary of how the war proceeded on all fronts. It describes the major battles and acquaints the reader with the major people. It doesn't assume that the reader knows the meaning of common terms and acronyms; for example, who knew that the origin of "U boats" is the German "unterseeboots," or "undersea boats?" Maybe I should have known, but I didn't. Onward to more reading...but this was a great start.

I got this as a gift for a twelve year old boy who is currently self-studying WWII. He sent me a thank you with an excited grin on his face. Total top-hats!

Reads Very Much Like a Textbook - Comprehensive Without Being Overwhelming
The son has a huge interest in World War II history, and the book World War II History for Teens was a welcome read for him. The book reads similar to a textbook but in slightly more simplified form. It goes into some of the causes of the war, what was going on in countries like Germany, the Soviet Union, Japan, US, Africa, and France, notable battles, and the aftermath and impact it had on the world once everything was over. Because the son is immensely interested in World War II, he found the book was fascinating to read and ended up reading it within two days. For my daughter and me, I found the book to be a little too straight forward, but still very comprehensive without being overwhelming. I would have prefer to have it written in a more storytelling way so that I could picture the battles, people, and effects the war was having in a more emotional way, but I did appreciate the sheer amount of facts and information that was presented. At the end of the book there are plenty of helpful sources and reference, as well as links and references to additional resources if you want to learn more. Overall, it was a book my son enjoyed and would be a welcome addition to anyone who is interested in learning more about World War II.

Nice Overview of WW2
I have followed the collective work of Benjamin since he started WW2 Veterans History Project as a teen boy, and watched as he grew in his work as a young man and now college student. His love for our Veterans and History shines in all his work from travels to Normady, interviewing out Greatest Generation, filming a Documentary, or writing his first book. This book is for any age, and should be a required reading in schools. It is a basic but thorough overview of important Historical information from the beginning to the ending of WW2, and very informative and well researched. Congrats Benjamin and proud. Looking forward to Book #2. God Bless all our Veterans. Proud to call Benjamin a friend and a supporter.
