Had a leak from the cap on one of my Yamaha trim tabs, told I needed to rebuild entire system by several repairmen for $400-$600. Further investigation revealed I could replace seals in cap, only 1 leaking, but 2nd would start leaking if both weren’t addressedSeals cost as much as 2 aftermarket caps, so went with caps. But this tool was needed to remove caps. $70 for caps, $30 for tool that worked great. 2 different sizes, larger one for tilt, smaller one for trim.

Needs better machining
I really like that there is a steel tool to help with the removal and install of the SeaStar seal gland. The wrench that comes witb the kit is made out of aluminum and will disform. Just disappointed that the pins are not straight when installed to the tool. All 3 pins were slanted and would not fit into the SeaStar seal gland. I could only get one pin to fit. I hate that I have to return it.

Pin pitch was off, damaged the holes in the cylinder cap. Pin broke while I was turning the wrench.
DON'T buy this wrench. It claims to fit Yamaha tilt/trim cylinder caps. Mine is an 2004 F225. The pin pitch was off enough that it wouldn't fit in the cap. I removed one of the pins and then could just force it to fit while tapping it. As I was turning the wrench the pin snapped. So 2 issues with this item.I had purchased new cylinder caps. The easiest way to remove the cap was using a pin punch with hammer to drive the cap loose.

When you need torque you can't have it slipping.
I had to use a 24" breaker bar so I couldn't have this tool slip. Not to mention it will likely damage the cap if it pops out when turning it. This tool helped me do both motors in 4 hours while the boat was on the lift with the help of a 8x10 floating raft.
