Im trying to use this on a car audio system, will this filter out the higher frequencies like vocals? Im getting the same sound from sub and speakers.

No it's just a gain control meaning you just control the volume of the bass up or down

Can you get this as a high pass unit ? I understand how it works I'm in need of this exact same thing in high pass 12db slope

As I said to another person the Rolls SX45 has both a low and high pass function being a two way crossover. Cost is $99.

It is indeed designed to be a low-pass filter. The frequency range is adjustable, allowing you to tune out high and mid range frequencies to blend your sub(s) in as they should be, in a well balanced set-up. It actually works very well. I've tested 150 (clean and real) Watts through two of them with no problems, for my sub system.
