Q: Can this be used on synthetic material?

The colors will not be as vivid as they are if you use fabrics that are 100% cotton. The colors also might not be uniformly distributed throughout a synthetic fabric.

Q: Can I use this to color soaps and candles?

Doing this may dye your skin if used in a soap.

Q: Can this be used for a velvet couch?

I would say NO. For achieving best results this product needs to be used on fabric that can be boiled with a dash of vinegar. Then rinsed in cold water. I do not recommend boiling your couch.

Q: Can this product be used to dye a pair of suede shoes?

No, I would not use this item on suede. Boiling the item helps dye set and vinegar added also helps. Don't do this too suede. There may be a dry powder for suede but I have never used this.
