Q: Will this fit a 22 inch head or what is the actual length measurement?

The actual length is 25 inches. It fits comfortably with zero tugging or pulling. I use it with my braided wig which is very heavy, and it has not slipped, shifted or even moved.

Q: Is it really going to protect my edges

Yes it really helps. I just wish I would have been using it because I have been wearing wigs for the several years and over time my edges have definitely thinned.

Q: Is this really worth the purchase? Does it secure the wig all day and does it make your hair look bumpy?

No, the band was stretched out in one wear. In fact, because it was large it did absolutely nothing for my head orvhold the wig in place. I bought really because my wigs are a little big even with the band do I usually pin it down. seeing the review was a what made me buy this, it was a waste of money. the review might have been a paid one so it's was in your best interest, for others to purchase. it's a one size fit all but heads are not one size fits all.
