I've tried 3 different treatments over the last 6 months to no avail, until this was delivered. We've struggled with cloudy water for months and this finally did the trick. It's really important you follow the instructions on the bottle, though I did use a bit more product than they specified just to really knock this stuff out. It's most effective if you use a skimmer (amazon sells a small one) to get rid of the foam and bubbles (particles) that precipitate after treatment. STEPS: I turned off the filtering system, put the product in the tub, set both sets of jets on full and in 5-10 mins you'll have a 1-2 foot high pile of bubbles to happily skim. After skimming for about 5 more mins, I shut the jets off and turned on the filtering system. After another 1-2 hours, I turned the jets on full again and skimmed a bit more to get the residual bubbles. I repeated this every other day for a week. I've also been running the filters 8 hours a day as opposed to the usual 4-5 hours. I also shocked it a couple of times between treatments. Our water is now crystal clear and we are enjoying our tub more than ever. It takes a bit of work, but the results are incredible. Good luck!

LIFE SAVER, tips for use.
New hot tub owner, My hot tub water, despite changing filters, balancing water, and shocking, was milky. I decided to try a clarifier before i drained it, I'm sooooooooo glad I did. I added 2 oz. For the first cleaning, 1oz.. let tub run and bubble up all the foamy brown goo (while I continually scooped out with a net) this lasted for about 10 minutes. ...let it settle for an hour, ran bubbles agian, scooped, added second oz. Repeat.I was a bit freaked out after added to water and running bubbles because the water looked worse.. but you need to let it settle and come back and get it foamy agian with your jets for a few cycles. Took about 6 hours of leaving and coming back for it to 100% look crystal clear if your water was as bad as mine. I have a Portable hot tub and it worked great. It does make it foamy, but the foam catches all the brown solidified goo and is best to scoop while it's running. The foam will disappear after most of contaminates are out. Afterwords i shocked it. And it perfect.

Worked out fine along with a filter change. Can't wait to see long term results.

Customer service was good as well as I was a little confused with ...
I did 1 oz and then waited 2 hours and did another 1 oz around 10PM. By morning it was crystal clear. Customer service was good as well as I was a little confused with directions as my blowers heat and jets run at the same time and cannot separate. He said they are only worried that at higher temperatures it will not work which is why they say turn it off. So I kept the system on and just lowered my temp to 90. Please note I got a lot of foam and you can visible see all the dirt / scum collect. I scooped some of that out which helped process and let the filter and I also bought floating scum bugs to help. I rinsed those out throughout process because they collected a bunch of scum as well. I highly recommend this product with floating scum bugs as well and you will have a crystal clear hot tub over night.

Doesn’t seem to work very well
I bought this because when I shock my hot tub the water turns cloudy so I was told to get a water clarifier to clear it up. I had been using a different brand that worked well but because I ran out I decided to try this brand but it doesn’t compare to what I had been using so I guess I will have to go back to using my original brand

Compatible with Baqua-Spa (biguanide) spa chemicals, works hot or cool, love it!
I use biguanide or Baqua-spa type chemicals in my hot tub and I keep it pretty cool. The kids use it as a tiny swimming pool to cool off in the summer and the water gets cloudy pretty easily. This product works well with the biguanide type sanitizer and it cleans the water very well too! Just remember to wash out your filter when you use a big dose of this stuff.I use a lot less 'waterline control' chemical now and the water stays more clear because of that at lower temperatures.

effective in conjunction with aquafinesse
I use aquafinesse and this product for a 375 gallon UV-equipped hot tub. In combination they work very well. I ran out for a while and used a pool clarifying product for a while -- complete failure, milky water. Got another bottle of this, did a 1 oz (*not* the whole bottle, and I have no idea what that one guy was thinking when he did that) treatment, and the water ended up very clear.1/week -> aquafinesse + 1 tbsp chlorine + impresa clarifier + filter change.1/2 tsp chlorine after each use.
