Wonderful piece
My son has been wanting to learn for years. I do advise getting another small set with this. I like having the choices. However having the guide to make it is worth it alone.

Nice starter kit
I have always wanted to try wood carving, but I really never knew where or how to start, so when I saw this simple wood carving kit I decided to buy it and see if I could learn a thing or two. So far I have made a very terrible attempt at carving a "wizard," and it is pretty fun. It really is a great set for beginners because it makes the process seem very easy and streamlined. I love this kit and am hoping my second carving attempt will turn out nicer than the first.

Good kit, poor instructions
The kit itself is good. the knife is excellent and well sharpened. But the step by step instructions are only online and consists of a hyperlapse 2 minute video and a pdf that is not detailed enough for a beginner. There are no explanations of cuts and detailed how-tos, so i'm very disappointed in that aspect of the kit.
