This bench enables my left side disabled wife to take a shower. She is very pleased with it. We do not use the cutout. Seat is less comfortable with the opening and space is to narrow for our shower head. The extra height of the cutout seat makes it easier to move the legs over the rail when the seat is turned.

Helpful product for post op back surgery. Can be a little difficult to operate at first (a little jerky) until one gets used to it. Very nice for getting into tub safely. My daughter put it together for me very rapidly and made it appear fairly easy to assemble. If you plan to assemble it yourself, assemble and set it up prior to surgery. Practice using it if you have an opportunity also. This would be an excellent product for someone with permanent disability to provide a bit of independence for showering. Big problem however if you drop your soap! Perhaps add soap dish and way to clamp hand held shower nozzle to side when you need to use your hands. Overall great product.

We tried other types of sliding benches, but this is the one that PERFECTLY fit"s our needs. The in home care givers for my 89 year old Mother in Law raved about this bench. This biggest advantage is the sliding swivel seat. The swivel seat allows someone to migrate from a wheelchair or lift on to the bench without much effort whatsoever. This product was easy to assemble, seems very sturdy, and appears to be a quality made product. I highly recommend this product. A few folks in her senior neighborhood are now looking at this product to purchase.
