House of Bastiion (The Haidren Legacy Book 1)

The House of Bastiion was so fascinating, culture and world building is mesmerizing. I get immersed in the epic fantasy. They are two story’s main characters Luscia and Zaethan in the book. This is the first book so I don’t want to spoil it. This book is a New Adult Fantasy Fiction, Regency Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Epic Fantasy and High Fantasy. I am giving a completely voluntary review. This book is going to stay with me and I'm beyond excited to learn there will be 5 books in this series. I have loved it from beginning to end.The world building is pure perfection and the characters are full of complexity and depth. It is hard to believe something of this caliber has come from a debut author.It gave me a bit of games of throne feels with all the political pieces at play. I loved the four different houses and the players for each one.There are characters you love and characters you love to hate. It is filled with mystery and intrigue and it is so very hard to put down.I don't want to give anything away because it was so fun finding everything out as you turned each page.This is definitely a series you want to begin if you love this genre.

K.L. did an amazing job with this book. there’s so much world building and intricacies to orynthian politics. there’s a lot of mystery that you wait throughout the whole book to unravel slowly piece by piece. the heroine is awesome, easily one of my favorite fantasy heroines. she’s strong, but not arrogant. she recognizes her weaknesses and feels rational guilt for her mistakes, unlike a lot of fantasy heroines who feel guilty for things outside their control just to try and make them seem self-sacrificing to readers. Luscia is genuinely likeable. she’s quick, she’s witty, and she doesn’t allow herself to be baited by the barrage of insults she faces every day or the pettier characters at court. she stays true to herself, and she does the best she can. i love the slow burn relationship between her and zaethan (very very slow). at first he just seemed childish and petulant with his prejudice against luscia, but you really got to see his character development throughout the book, and he quickly became very dear to my heart as well. i cannot wait for book 2. this story is just starting, and there’s so much more to be explored, not the least of which is luscia and zaethan’s relationship. well done, K. you killed it ♥️

From the very first start of the book, it get's your mind racing about who the characters are. The different houses and land and the language will ROCK your world!!!! I could not and have not put this book down. I want this to be a movie or a series on Netflix,Prime,AppleTV, or a National release. Make it Happen. Also this gives me the feeling of Tolkien's stories and Game of Thrones without the sex and nudity. The way K.L. Kolarich creates and describes the scenes and the landscapes of the stories are mind blowing. I want the next book to come out NOW! When I'm done with this one I want to go to the next book ASAP!! This fantasy has minor magics. A broad cast of characters and a mystery thrown inside the requisite court intrigue one expects in a mixing of cultures within a single kingdom. Where we solve one mystery more have evolved in its place and now we wait for the next book and the resolutions it will bring.

I recieved this book as an ARC.This book seized my heart from the prologue and held it captive the entire way through. It's a wonderful read and I can't wait for the next book in the series.Kolarich is a master at weaving plot and subplots with the perfect amount of detail and drama. There was never a moment when the book lagged. Every scene played into plot advancement, with twists at every turn.Characters struggle to gather pawns for their wins, no matter how small, in a world full of political intrigue.With nearly every character a suspect, the mystery of the murders will keep you filled with wonder until the end, making this book also perfect for mystery fans as well as fantasy. This book has a little something for everyone.While this book wasn't heavy on romance, it sets up multiple potential relationships for the future. (Kolarich has promised me romance in future books in this series.) This book focuses on the characters as individuals. Each one, even minor characters, are fully developed, possessing their own personalities, emotions, and quirks. I think when the romance happens, it will be even more rewarding because we've become more invested in who the characters are.I've read alot of big name books/authors and I expect Kolarich and her series to join their ranks. This book is perfect and a must have for every shelf.

This book was amazing, from start to finish! A true new world to escape into. Best adventure fiction I have read in a long time. Can’t wait for the next book!

The author takes you on a journey where you not only feel like you are there , you get to know the characters personally. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next release.
